Subject: RE: 10.26.16 What up Wednesday! LOL if my kiddos have learned anything from me this year (they know all about the Worlds fiasco ) it is that you should do everything in your power to finish whatever it is you are doing, and not give up or DQ!
5:20-ish: 50-minute run with about 10 minutes of stride drills at the beginning (neighbors must think I am crazy--no track so I am doing them in the middle of a residential street ). Still kind of sluggish but better than last two days.
PM: 30 minutes of strength stuff. Have the feeling I will be sore tomorrow after a week off from core, pushups, and weights.
I think the cold had played more havoc with my sleep than I realized--slept like the dead last night. I have never been a solid sleeper unless training really hard, and even then, not awesome. It's pretty normal for me to be awake for an hour or even two between 1 and 3 AM--one reason besides training that I crash so early. But last night it was like only five minutes passed between 8:30 PM and 4:30 AM. The only other times I can recall sleeping like that, I was above 10,000 feet (not in a plane--in the Himalayas. ) Altitude somehow throws the "off" switch for brain and body. The only thing that works at sea level is swimming. |
