Good morning BT!

4:30am:  30 minute run in my new Saucony Triumph 3s....love them as I always love a new pair of Sauconys!

5:00am:  :40 minute 5X5 upper body/core.  Spent some of my extra time stretching.

Nothing too excited planned for the weekend, older daughter off to Vegas for a basketball tourney and younger daughter has two junior high games tomorrow--but they are 120 miles away so a little road trip for us tomorrow!

Have a great day!

Another unplanned off day.

Got to my gym, and the bathroom had a shallow pool of water on the floor. Then, I saw the sign that the pool was closed for maintenance. Hmm, bathroom backup + pool maintenance = bad news.

Have a great day and weekend.

I am a Saucony lover too. Desperately need a new pair--somehow my training shoes have shrunk (probably due to never getting dry in rainy season) and I am down to wearing one pair of Kinvaras (that I usually use just for racing and speed work) for everything!

AM 50 minute run with some fartlek pickups
PM 45 minutes of strength stuff, thank goodness no stability ball transfer crunches, though (different routine)

More significantly, I am done with my progress reports, which means that I can actually have some kind of weekend, unlike the past three weeks.

Karen, you may already do this, but a trick I've learned for drying out shoes: take out the insoles, and stuff the shoes with newspaper. By the next day, dry as a bone. The biggest challenge, at least on this side of the pond, is finding a print edition of a newspaper!

That would be huge here, too. Generally people subscribe, and they are delivered early AM by motorbike. I don't even think we have anything like a newsstand! When I first lived here, there would be these little stalls roadside selling papers, a few kinds of magazines, tissues, cigarettes, sometimes bottled water, but they seem to have disappeared. Seriously, just realized I have not seen a newspaper for sale here in years!

Have tried stuffing shoes with various things, powders, etc. but nothing seems to really work. Humidity has been beyond the pale this fall. I had a bike chain rust when the chain had never been outside since my last race (which was dry) and I ride the trainer with a thong on the frame, so I shouldn't be sweating onto the chain. I think it was all from the moisture in the air.

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
