Good morning BT!  Back from Vegas and back to routine!

6:45am:  5X5 strong lift

Heading out with the dog squad for a hike in a bit and then around noon 1800m of swim drills.  I'm in a recovery week so pretty tame stuff until the weekend.

Have a great day BT! Anyone racing this weekend?

Did they find you on the roof of the Mirage, Kim?

I have a brick this afternoon. Forecast of 97. Should be fun!

Have a great day.

Looks like you had a great time Kim. Welcome back.

Easy 5 mile run this morning.

Had to travel today so that was all I could fit into the morning.

Have a great day everyone.

Well... I haven't got "back to routine" since my "A race" 5-1/2 weeks ago.  It has been recovery week for over a month now.  I have been reduced to just 2-3 work outs a week.

The only bright spot was that I was the over all winner of my July 4th 5K race out of 600 people.  You don't get a lot of perks living in rural Oklahoma (i.e. no running stores, no bike shops, no group rides, no smooth roads to ride on if you did have group rides, no tri clubs, no running clubs, no masters swimming classes, no lap swimming pools, etc for 50+ miles) but you do get to be the big fish in the little pond.

I did get out and run today.  At 5:45 I did 10 x 400m repeats with a mile warm-up and mile cool down.

It was pretty warm for 5:45 AM.  When it is 80 degrees at that time of the day I am glad that I am not doing afternoon runs.

Oh...I did sign up for a 70.3 race in September because I thought it would motivate me to get "back to Routine".  Well I am easing into.  :-)

Trying to get "back to routine", I guess. I don't really know what routine is!

9 AM: 1:10 of running with some hill repeats in Hendricks Park (below is the road where I did the recovery jogs, not the hill (trail)
11:30 AM: 3200m of swimming, mostly easy recovery stuff

Beautiful day here in Oregon.

9 mile run in triple digit heat again. At least when I do my race in a few weeks it'll be 55-60 degrees for a good chunk of it. Won't be able to breathe but I won't be hot either. Watching cool runnings (again) while I stretch

My freshman year of college I red shirt for the University of Wyoming Track team.  My family lived in Oklahoma and so do a lot of travel back and forth between triple digit heat at low altitude and and 7200 feet above seal level and the cooler temperature that comes with that.  The heat was was harder to run in.  You should be well prepared for your race. You are doing things right.
