Good morning BT!  I've been slacking!

Off this morning for a two hour hike, think I'm going to explore some new areas today.  I'm on my own for the day so I have nothing but time to do some adventuring.  I also just registered my new Personal Locator Beacon my dad sent me.  He's also has an adventurous spirit and keeps one on his plane and in his boat.  He's always been worried about all these solo adventures I go on so this gadget turned up in the mail yesterday!  It's a good idea and small enough to throw in my pack.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

There you are! Where’s that beacon been all week?

I was supposed to do a 70mi ride today. Ended up doing 60. I was pretty sapped, as yesterday was a fasting day. And, there was a 21mph wind out of the south. Really demoralizing. Oh well.

Kiddo has a t-ball game, right in the middle of the first final four game. I’ll be in the minority, as I’ll be rooting for my alma mater to beat Loyola.

Have a great day and a great Easter. And, go Blue!

Good on you for getting a plb. Which one is it? I’ve carried a ResQ link ever since I read “Between a rock and a hard place”.5 mile run at a good pace with my favorite group.Hope you’re all training well.

Happy Easter all!

Yesterday was kind of a tough day to get motivated. I did my usual morning ritual of a 2 minute plank, 40 pushups and 30 oblique situps, but after that...

I had to go to two different grocery stores and fight crowds for the things we needed to bring to Easter dinner, and that kind of got me in the mood to do nothing. It was pretty warm up, but there was a gale wind advisory on the lake, and the sustained winds were 30 to 35 miles an hour with gusts near 50. I was stalling hoping the wind would die down because I really wanted to get a bike ride in.

The wind never did die down, so it was off to the gym. My legs weren't digging the indoor track (they never do, but this was really hurting), so I quit after about a mile of mostly walking. I then went to the spin bikes and got a decent albeit short workout in on one of those. After I realized how sweaty I was getting I began to feel more in the mood to hit it. So I went to the Cybex room and hit a half dozen machines. Most of the machines I did 3 sets of 12 reps at a weight where the third set I really had to get in the mindset to want to get all 12 in.

All in all it was a bit over an hour, and I went from dragging myself in to being pumped up when I left. It was probably a better mental workout than physical.

1:15 run in Singapore Botanic Garden. Very hot and humid but very nice setting with lots of exotic plants and all manner of runners, walkers, and dogs. For me it is a novelty to run in an area closed to traffic!
