Good morning BT!

Heading out for a two hour trail run in a few minutes.  The birds are chirping, the sun is shining and the wind is calm--perfection!

Have a great day out there!

Hope you have a great trail run!

I ran 7 miles this morning with my run group on the trails downtown, with a small interruption to help a little old lady who was speedwalking and got distracted by a dog playing in the water. Smashed her face right into the concrete archway under a bridge and was down for the count. Stopped her bleeding and made sure she didn't have any spinal injuries til EMS arrived. Speedwalking is dangerous!

Geez, those arches really come out of nowhere. Especially along Lady Bird Lake.

8:00 - 2.5 hr brick, with 2 rides and 2 runs. The first run was great. The last run was brutal, fatigue caught up with me.

Have a good and safe day.

70 minute ride with a friend this morning. Stuck to my harder gears and focussed on some slow, hard pushing so he could ride with me. Followed that up with a short run.

Actually already Sunday PM here but.....

Saturday was certainly sunny enough. Just miserably hot and not a hint of breeze. I started my "long" run (1:10--still a bit in recovery mode though I'm building up frequency and total run volume now) at 6:25 AM and felt like I was melting from the get-go, especially on the 15 minutes worth of tempo pickups. Should have started an hour earlier--that's about when I start morning runs during the work week.

Noon-ish: 3100m of swimming. That felt really nice. Water was a bit cool but by then it was in the mid 90's and heat index probably well into the triple digits.

At 8 PM last night it was still 87 with 93% humidity. Arrrrgh!

Well, my north fence is nearly complete. I've got one post to cut to height and one picket to replace where the new fence ties to the existing fence. The gate is done and appears to be escape resistant. Our dog is quite the Houdini; he's got it too good here to run off, but he likes exploring the neighborhood.

I also bought some dirt and filled my wife's raised garden beds (Mother's Day gifts to her) so those are nearly ready to go.

After that, I managed to get a mile and a half run in the heat and humidity. It was still near 90 (heat and humidity) at 6:30.

After I cooled off and showered, we had our "Thanksgiving" dinner. The grocer had turkey breasts on sale, so I made one in the crock pot while I was working on the fence and beds. Added a bit of mashed taters, gravy, and corn.

Have a great weekend all!
