Not good. In the first quarter mile, I though I was done for. Felt like I'd never swam before. Eventually just chilled and knew the suit would hold me up reguardless, so I just moved my arms and kept going forward.

More swimming. Warm up before swim.

Such a long way from getting out of water to the transition area. Needed to put sun screen on, but forgot. Later sunburn. Overall, went smooth.

Sunscreen

It was moderately hilly, and one town had cobble stones. I held back on bike so the run would not be a terrible thing. Good thing I did.....

More bike training. Had a hard winter at home and didn't get outside enough.

In and out. Put on sunscreen here, but the damage was already done.

nuttin

First loop was great. Did my run/walk thing and was really trucking along at a comfortable pace. Each loop after that found me walking more and running less. Kept a good pace despite the walking. Enjoyed the loops.

Nothing really. I had no need to push this hard. I wasn't really racing....just trying to make a good showing.

It was my first international IM, or race of any kind really. I enjoyed the people , the race and the venue. I'd do it again if the opportunity presented itself.
