Subject: 4.25.19 Thursday Training!

Good morning BT!

5:30 am:  60 min. bike trainer:  WU, 5x5' over-under intervals 90-105% FTP, CD

It was raining hard this morning.  I somehow always have indoor training planned when it is raining hard and have the outdoor running days when it is dry.   I don't mind running in heavy rain but am glad things workout the way they do. I used to cycle in heavy rain too before I got the bike trainer.  I love having the bike trainer now.  It makes thing a lot easier for morning workouts and adverse weather conditions and allows a lot more training time in a crazy week.

I guess that is the one good thing about my current training situation--the weather can do what it will as everything is indoors. Sadly, the weather here has been beautiful. Would take my bike and trainer outside but I can't. I could probably manage to move them, but for some reason my bike is crazy hard to get in and out of the trainer--maybe the skewer got bent in transit or it is actually the wrong skewer...or something. No one but me has figured it out and it's such a contorted maneuver, I can't visualize being up to it anytime soon! Though I guess it's good the bike was IN the trainer when I got injured or I'd have had to find a bike shop that made house calls.

25 minutes of "swimming" (covered a whopping 1350 yards, and that was with fins!). 45 minutes of steady-state trainer ride.About 2 hours of PT.

1 mile swim this PM.

I’ve transitioned to basically doing all my bike workouts inside. I don’t have enough cyclist friendly roads to risk riding on. Plus I can get my 2-3 hour ride finished and be done by 7:30-8am instead of 9:30-10 am.

I’ve also completed about 75% of my runs on the treadmill this training cycle as well. I try to get my long runs in outdoors. All the medium distance stuff is treadmill action.

I’m definitely getting my $15 a month out of zwift.
