25 on the bike. It was wet and cool.

Started on the edge of dawn and got after it.

Big news in my world. After going 6 months without a seizure or heart event that needed me to be restarted, I can drive again. FREEDOM.

Congratulations on the driver's license.  I take this means a lot more swimming.

I did a 60' canned bike trainer work out this morning.

The Schedule for the week had some longer and more intense trainer workouts on it but I have opted for a rest week so I picked out a slightly less intense and shorter workout for today.  It was 4 x 5' @ 110% FTP.  The scheduled work out was for 5 x 6' @ 110% FTP.  I liked today's work out. It suited me just fine.

I got back in the pool for the first time since June yesterday.  I didn't do any intervals.  I just swam easy the whole time without stopping. The only thing that I worked on was flip turns.  My first sprint triathlon this year was an OWS and I was 5th out of the water.  I am usually about 40th out of the water in a group of 100 participants so that was an amazing performance for me. My second sprit Triathlon was a pool swim.  it was 400yd vs the 500yd OWS well...I was about 40th out of the pool in that race.  OWS are what I train for.  I think I may have been able to cut some time if I could do a flip turn.  My open turns work just fine for 95% of what I do but my next race is another pool swim so I spent a little time working on flip turns. Yes, I can do a flip turn, but after 4 year of open turn, the open turns were still smooter and faster.  I will keep trying out the flip turns and see if they can improve enough to use in a race in 6 weeks.

Take care!

I have an Oly on 08/04.

Swimming has been a challenge logistically, and more recently, I hurt my rotator cuff about a month ago. The more I swim, the more it hurts...hahaaha

It needs to get me through IMLP 70.3 in September.

4.25 miles at midday. We have a “cold”’front moving in so it was 85 degrees at run start instead of 95.

Congrats on being able to drive again!

We actually had some humid Midwest-type weather here for a change. Ever since last night it has been oppressively humid with lots of dark clouds but has failed to actually do anything beyond a few dribbles of rain. Very odd for here. Summer (this and last) normally seems to be one long high-pressure system, dry and hot and blindingly sunny, cooler mornings and evenings and occasional windy, sunny "cold fronts".

1:30 trainer workout (longer builds in Z2 and shorter big-gear builds in Z3) and 25 minute run. I hadn't done a brick workout since February, and now my coach has me doing three in one week. Hmmm... At any rate it is easier for me to get going on a run if I bike first.
