Up at the crack of all things dark, on the trainer at 5:17am.

4x10 minute with big gears

It's a good day so far...Breakfast is super good!

Enjoy it BT...

Also, random question: Do only 5 of us on here train? Or only 5 have keyboards? hahahaha

I know a bunch of you guys out there have some daily tips and tricks that would help the newer folks to the game.

The only thing that was cracking at 5:17am at my place was the voice of a young rooster as he caught the light from the porch as I hoofed it out to the garage to start my trainer ride.

3x15 minute at 95-100% FTP

1x6 minute at 95-100% FTP

I really feel weak at the end of these trainer rides over 60'.  It is more a mental struggle than a physical struggle though.  I was struggling to hit 95% so I closed my eyes and started to count pedal strokes.  when I opened my eyes 2 minutes later the legs were in a sustainable rhythm at 110% FTP.

Breakfast is only okay.  I cut open the cantaloupe-sized watermelon that sprung up unexpectedly from the compost pile.  It was a nice treat but I was short on time so I didn't have time for a sitdown breakfast.  Life, however, is super good!

Take care BT...

Curtis

I would kill just to be healthy enough to train for (and do) a race! Don't take that for granted. As it is, I'm able to run normally, bike (on a trainer) and swim (mostly with fins). No idea if/when I'll be able to do an actual event, unless USAT and Ironman decide fins are okay!

53 minutes of running this morning (thank goodness, before it got hot) and 2200 yards of swimming this evening.

Two years ago I did an "A Race" in early June.  I didn't really have any plan after that but thought I would do maintenance training so I could jump on a Fall race if I found one.  Well by the middle of August all my motivations was gone.  I wasn't doing any training and was feeling that maybe I should just want until the next spring to start up again.  I fortunately singed up for a September race with 7 weeks to go time.  That got me back on track and I even had a good race.  So...if you have a race in November that should keep you on track.  We look forward to seeing you progress and eventually your race races.
