1:20 run this afternoon and it was fantastic! Seriously, a great day for a run weather wise, very little traffic, got to let some friendly dogs, and ran the second fastest five miles of the last two years. All-in-all, a pretty terrific run.

Also pulled the trigger and ordered all the materials for our new patio. All that digging and shifting dirt, rock, sand, and then laying paver blocks has got to could for some kind of strength training, right? I don’t want to tell my coach! He gets frustrated when I do these big projects. :D

90’ trainer ride with just a short break in the middle to accept delivery of half the stone for our new patio (of course he came while I was riding!). Now on to arm strength workouts!! :P

Happy Easter!
Short 2 mile run yesterday plus a mile with the dog.
Today I’m back to work but just power-walked 3 miles with my roommate after it poured rain.

Well it looks like Quebec announced no sporting events or festivals through the end of August so IM Mont Tremblant will probably be canceled or postponed, just waiting for the final, official word. Quebec has been especially hard hit and apparently has 50% of the COVID19 cases in Canada. Part of me says boo, part of me is relieved since I can’t swim and haven’t been on a bike for two weeks and training in general is out of whack. My friend I was going with has already canceled her hotel room. I haven’t pulled that trigger yet but likely will this week. It’s okay, I will make it a renewed base-building year and maybe the half iron I’ve done in the past over Labor Day weekend will still go and I could do that instead.

DQ, great to hear from you!!

Yay for the new patio project, Gretchen!

Mike, sorry to hear about the back, and the flat for that matter. I’m glad your LBS was open and able to help out.

Hi, everyone.  Hope you all had a nice weekend.  Got some good training in with 45' on the trainer and a bunch of strength and core work on Saturday and 90' wandering around London on Zwift yesterday.  Today's weather is awful - pouring rain and high winds.  I was planning on a day off early this week so looks like today is the day.

@Gretchen - yes patio work counts as strength training.  Make sure you log it to aggravate your coach.

@Jenn - bummer on IM MT, seems as if our endurance careers are going to skip a year.  Hopefully you triathletes can get something in late summer or early Fall.

@Sapph - nice work on the slow bike progression and sticking to rehab!

Rest day here! Actually feel like I can use it. Tomorrow is a bike ramp test to gauge improvement over the last six weeks, which have been bike focused. Looking forward to it.

Today's weather was weird, right?!

Did a boot camp with my roommate this morning. I didn't do a ton last week, but need to get back into it now that I'm mostly recovered from the blood donation. Only got a little dizzy this morning, so that is promising.

Had kind of a blah day otherwise, and the weather didn't help.

Glad to see people are still active! DQ, you will earn that scotch in no time. Eye on the prize!

Gretchen, house projects are so fun. I'm not handy (I'm afraid I will mess stuff up and wouldn't even know where to start with most of the stuff), and am always envious when I see all the awesome stuff you do to your place.

Jenn, bummer about your IM. I guess better to learn now then train all summer and have it cancelled last minute though (silver lining?).

Ramp test this morning. It is short and brutal. If, however, I did the math correctly, my ftp has gone up 40w since mid January. So...results!

Today, I start the patio digging!! (Rained all weekend)

Nicole—home improvement is 90% having the confidence to actually start, 9% problem solving, and 1% knowledge/skill. At least in the beginning! I started by taking things apart when they were broken. I figured I had nothing to lose. It was broken anyway. If I could fix it, I save myself some money. If I don’t, I’m not out anything and I may have learned something.

Really nice work, Gretchen.  Now for your reward your workouts get harder.

There were over 10K active users on Zwift at 10 AM EDT Sunday, about half of them on the London course (you can choose from three now).  Nuts.

I did run over a few pedestrians, in the spirit of London driving.  And yes, you ride on the wrong (left) side of the road in the virtual world, too.

You mean searching you tube? I can't believe how much DIY knowledge is out there.

Precisely!! The breakdown of this segment is 50% asking my dad/50% searching youtube when I don't want my dad to know how ignorant I am!

I know! What a crappy reward!

Coach just uploaded my schedule for this week. Gotta admit, that three hour trainer ride scheduled for Saturday looks a little daunting!

Managed a 4 mile circular route by mine today; hammies were still a bit sore after Sunday but this seems to have eased them somewhat. Going to try for at least five tomorrow and the extras: core, arms, rehab etc.

Hope you all doing ok!

That is a great way to look at it. I should try to do more. I am not even comfortable hanging pictures...which is silly, b/c it seems like it should be pretty simple (although often a drill is required since under my drywall there is brick).

Ran to and from PT yesterday at a good clip. I'm only going to PT every 2 weeks going forward although some of my scapular pain is back. Need to really get these exercises in.

Did yoga sculpt with my roommate this morning (I focused more on the yoga than the sculpt, but got a little lifting in).

Managed a short ride and some rugby handling drills and the usual arm/core/rehab stuff.

How is everyone else getting on?

In downtown Philly today, work late tonight. I just ran to the “Rocky Steps” and ran them 4 or 5 times and back (around 3 miles or so). It was surreal, so empty. Going to stretch and do some core work here in the hotel room, then shower and nap before heading out. Stay healthy all!
