Yesterday was a total wash for me. I woke up, ate breakfast and then promptly vomited all over my guest bathroom. That was the herald for the worst migraine I’ve had in my life. I ended up going back to bed for a six hour nap. I woke up at about 1:30, staggered to the couch for a few hours, and then bed again at 7:30. It was awful.

Woke up this morning and was completely fine. Had a 1:05 trainer ride with new power goals today. It felt really good.

Oh, Gretchen...that sounds awful.    I had a GF years and years ago who had migraine problems and I couldn't believe how debilitating it was.  Glad you're feeling better and nailing your (new, harder) target numbers.

Got in a couple good trainer rides the last two days...60' on Wednesday as a pyramind workout and then 45'+ yesterday with 30" sprints followed by 1' @ 95%.  Harder than it sounds.  Legs are toast today so it'll be a recovery Z2 ride today.  Weather has settled into mid-50s and breezy every day - UGH.

1:20 run today. I intentionally sought out hills and it felt great!!

Tomorrow is a 3 hour trainer ride followed by a 30’ run. Can’t say I’m looking forward to the first part of that!

Virtual race on Zwift yesterday, about middle of the pack in C category.  15+ mile flat race, went out a little too fast and got dropped by the lead groups but found a groove and a group of six of us worked together and I came in second in the sprint out of that group.  That hurt.  And I'm a little sore today.

Easy trainer recovery ride today and maybe some core work. 

@Gretchen - that's a long day!

Two hours on the trainer today. Just a long, steady single interval. We started re-watching Lord of the Rings, so at least I was entertained. I don't know if I'll get to the patio today or not. My triceps are fried today. Nothing else is sore, just my triceps.

How do you “work together” virtually?

So after 3 weeks off due to illness, I started to get back into it this weekend. Started on Friday with a 6k walk/run. A nice slow bike ride on Saturday (30k) and a 5k run yesterday. Feels great. Tonight I am back in the pool (yes, the pool, still open round here but deserted I hear so...)

Glad you're back and feeling better, Nathalie.  As for the working together part, Zwift simulates and outdoor riding experience (including the effect of inclines and wind resistance on your speed), so if you're in a tight group you get a peloton effect.  You take turns "pulling" or riding really hard at the front, then riding easier in the back.  Problem is that these are all random people thrown together in the race (with some exceptions where some teams enter together) so it takes some time to get a group together.

Got a relatively long, more challenging hike in yesterday. It was beautiful and involved some climbing over rocks and such. Planning to get a run in this afternoon (it's gloomy and gray but only 10% chance of rain today...unlike the rest of the week).

Also need to make sure I'm doing my PT. I keep forgetting!

I hear ya! I do it when I exercise but don't think I've ever done it on a day i haven't ridden. Oops! 

 

Managed my longest ride since gubbing my leg just over 6 miles, then a bunch of arm/core/rehab. 

 

How everyone else doing?

Well done on the ride Sappho, and on the “rest” day Gretch. I plan on playing golf on my rest day on Thursday, sounds a little nicer than digging ...

First pool workout in about a month last night.

Main set:
10x 100
10 x 50
10 x 25

Some of the above was at an easy pace some of it a little more serious. Had to ease into it.felt great, I missed swimming!

Today I am going to do some strength training outside in the beautiful weather we are having.

Got a 4 mile run in this morning. Glad I got it in when I did because it is looking quite ominous outside now. It just keeps getting darker and darker.

30’ run this morning.

I had a lecture I wanted to “attend” this morning, so I was in my office at 4:45. It is 10:30 and I’m dun..pooped and my brain is sluggish. Good think I have a little project to work on to keep me busy for the rest of the day.

Today was another Zwift race, a 12-lap criterium of a 2km flat-ish course with one small climb.  I mistakenly thought it was 10 laps so I was very heartbroken when I realized the last lap I thought I was about to start was actually 3rd to last.  LOL

105th/130 in C category - this was a really big, tough field.  I executed the race pretty well but would up in a hole between a couple of groups.  No sprint needed at the end, thank goodness.  Great workout nonetheless.

Mike—I did one event on zwift and I hated it!! It was supposed to be a no drop ride and I swear I was left in the dust within the first ten minutes by about 5% of the riders who thought it was a showcase (the rest were with me mostly). The leader was “yelling” the whole time for the group to bunch back up and regroup and so on. It just wasn’t fun!

Today was an hour trainer ride with 2x15 @95-100Ftp. With my new ftp, it was a good workout! Even the warmup and cool down were higher power than two weeks ago’s main set. :P

I did a 6.5 mile ride then snuck in some core work before drinking beer and watching Wynnona Earp on netflix party. My mates and I are all in love with Officer Haught

Nicely done 15' @ 95-100% is no joke. 

Yah, there are some real jacka$$es on Zwift, especially on the racing side.  Weight doping and the like.  I'm all about bringing the full 200 lbs. of my awesomeness  and should eat a few less cookies if I want to climb or accelerate better.

No, Sweden is I think the only country in the world not in a lockdown. Social distancing comes naturally here
