How's everyone else coming along?

I spite of issues with gout and arthritis I was going strong until September and then the wheels feel off. I have a severe gout issue followed by a two week vacation. I'm down 48 mile and might be able to make it up, but we will see.

Hello all. Well I did not have the year I was hoping for. Feet issues and other things just really got in the way this year. I hope everyone else is doing well. I am back to running and right now am just slowly going to work on building some endurance back up.

I also wanted to let everyone know that I will create a new spreadsheet for next year. I am not the original creator but I don't think he is with us on here anymore and I am the one that created this years. I am hoping to avoid what happened last year. Another member tried and ended up accidently deleting last years all together.

Hope everyone has a great holiday and a happy new year!!!

Thanks for taking the lead..I'll be in again for 2024 but with more modest goals. My BQ quest is done and I don't think I plan to run the kind of miles I need to be ready to get another qualification time(unless it happens at Boston itself in April which would be a regular miracle).

A little commiseration can be a huge help towards making the 1000(or whatever) mile goal and I hope everyone who checked in on this thread over the course of the year will do so again in '24..Best of luck to all with your training!

Hey, folks.  While I didn't hit my original goal I've had the best running season in almost 10 years...should finish well over 300 miles with another 200 or so hiking/walking.  I didn't have a ton of success in the run phase of my tri races but I think a renewed focus on the sprint distance will serve me well next year.

Here's to an injury-free (or at least injury-light) 2024!!

Well…I just reached 900 miles for the year. In years past I have ran many more miles but the past few years running has not been my main thing and so I just didn’t set out to plan to reach the goal HOWEVER I rode over 5000+ miles on my bike which is the most I have ever done (basically doubled my milage from last year). I think my body likes biking more than running now that I am older.

However, maybe I will attemp to get 1000 miles again in 2024

Nope - tried it...only like three people racing in it, and they were really good at it LOL.  Gotta figure out the running.
