Comments:

Great race - just so much fun to run ON the fields - times were slow with all the turns and out/backs but that was to be expected - SO much fun to do this race. Started out very easy until I felt like my legs found an effort and pace that I could sustain - many of the mile markers were off but mile 5-6 might have been right, that was one of the only times I felt like I could go full throttle without any turns - so good day overall.
10k race splits:
1. 6:10
2. 4:54 (short)
3. 8:11 (long)
4. 6:24
5. 6:54 (long)
6. 6:10
  • 2. 1.32
  • 40:17 - 7th overall 2nd AG 30-39.
    What would you do differently?:

    Nothing.

    Warm down:

Ate some food, biked and ran when I got home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

leg turnover - lungs felt good, never had any lactate build up so I think in that regard things are coming along. Big day yesterday with the climbing so I was happy with the effort.

    Event comments:

The only thing they could do better was not to merge the 5k and the 10k at Pepsi Center - too many walkers with baby strollers - tough to get around when they were walking 2-3 abreast but that's not their fault, more the RD's fault.

We need a race like that in Boston...though I bet it would be a tad longer with the distance between Foxboro and Fenway...

    Nice run!   You left BOULDER!

ha! Found out BKB messed up the results! I was really 3rd AG and I finished 10th, not 8th and Melanie was 8th, not 10th. Being the RD of a small event gives me a 'little' perspective and I don't understand why timing these events is so hard. Oh well - at least my time wasn't off by too much from what I had. They got that kinda right. I highly reccomend this race for all you CO peeps! Lots of fun, though not fast with all the out/back sections and turns, but FUN nonetheless! Thanks for the nice words everyone!
