I am usually pretty low-key about my apparel and can wear just about anything to get out there and run.  But when I tried the Balega's at last year's Disney Marathon expo (because I had forgotten my socks...doh!), I fell in love.  I will not do a long run in anything else.  Thankfully my hubby works at a running store that sell Balega's so I can now stock up at a good price!

I'm going to have to second the Balega's. They are absolutely THE best socks. Soft, no seams, the BEST.

after reading the comments I might have to invest in a pair of DeFeets and Balega's, I checked thier website and my local store carries both of their products. Look out coolmax.

I love my thorlo's.  i wear Running 3's at work and they are very comfortable. I wear 1-2's for most runs except long runs.

The first time I tried on a pair of Balega's I literally thought "this is what socks are supposed to feel like." They are cushiony on the bottom and thin on top with no seams. PERFECT

Last year I was getting horrible blisters from my orthotics and right before the Indy Mini Marathon I found these socks. I found them at Nordstroms, they now have become my lucky socks!

I love Injinji socks -- the ones with the individual toes.  I wouldn't wear them for a sprint or olympic distance race due to the incredibly long transition times they would cause, but I wear them on every training run and would use them for longer distance races.  They look kind of goofy and are hard to find, but they are the only socks that keep me from getting blisters between my toes.  Love love love them.
