Comments:

I was pleasantly surprised with this race. I had planned on running the race nice and easy, just enough to keep me warm and not sweat too much. With that in mind, the first lap went really smoothly. I started off really slowly because I was in the middle/back of the race having started late. At about mile 6, I saw the clock time was about 52:00, with about a 3-4 minute differential. I didn't take a watch (again to go easy), so I didn't know exactly when I started. I started to wonder what I could do in the second lap, so I started to pick up the pace. With each passing mile, I started to get more aggressive. There went the easy run, but I didn't care at that point. I was starting to have fun. At mile 12, the clock read 1:32:50, and I wondered if I could reach the finish line under 1:40:00. I got there with 13 seconds to spare. What I had intended to be an easy run was only half true, but it sure was a blast trying to catch people.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. I may have had a faster time if I took the first lap a little faster, but I think I prefer the burst of energy in the last few miles instead of holding on for dear life.
Post race
Warm down:

light jog to the bus stop, stretched out in the bus.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure...maybe the cold weather?

Event comments:

This is the coldest weather I have ever run in. Having lived in Hawaii most of my life, it was kind of bizarre to see icicles on some guys with longish hair, icicles on beanies, and also grabbing frozen cups off tables.

Nice run, especially given you ran easy for the first lap.  I imagine those conditions were a bit different than running in Hawaii.
