Pre-race routine:

Hung out with Brett, Rebecca, David, and Lou. Tried to stay warm and look like I had a clue what I was doing. Skinned my knee catching a woman who was falling off the starting ramp.
Event warmup:

Biked about 1.5 miles with a couple of pickups.
Bike
  • 33m 5s
  • 9.5 miles
  • 17.23 mile/hr
Comments:

I had a good time at this race. I was nervous about the ramp start and of course almost fell off the ramp. I pretty much went all out for the entire race. I did get passed by a few people and did not pass anyone but my goal was not to be DFL. Accomplished it by :02!
What would you do differently?:

Get clipped in a ride bike up starting ramp.
Post race
Warm down:

Rode slowly for a mile or so. Went over to see Rebecca and Lou head out and see Brett and Rebecca finish. I had to go (family duties) so I didn't get to see Lou finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

This was my first bike race and the time trial format was neat. It was a little depressing getting passed by two people in the first mile but I really went all out and now have a benchmark for next year.

Felix, you did great - really glad you were able to make it.  You were out there "doing battle" and that's the biggest part.  David relayed a bit of your story to me and suffice it to say I'm impressed!!  It sounds like the progress you've made during the past 12 months is HUGE - way to go!  Look forward to future races and definitely next year's TTT!

Congrats Felix!  You did awesome and I'm so glad that you decided to be hang out with all of the other crazy people at the race on Saturday!

Good job catching that woman off the ramp - I know that she appreciated it.  And I'm not sure if you saw my start or not, but it was not all that graceful!

Great job!  Can't wait to 'race' with you again!

Congrats on the race, Felix. I think you did outstanding for your first time trial. Way to go catching the woman falling.
