Why isn't this news? Libby GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY

I will never cease to be amazed with people's perceptions and beliefs.

If anybody is guilty in this, it was not Libby, but Armitage, the person who ACTUALLY LEAKED Valerie Plame's name. Second, we find out that she WAS NOT covert, or there WOULD have been charges filed, namely against Armitage, so what we get is that NO crime was committed except for the shlock charge of Libby's recollections conflicting with some other witnesses recollections of what may or may not have really happened.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

Amazing.

I know very little about Libby but I will ask those of you who seem glad he has been found guilty, What is he guilty of?.... he is guilty of giving false statements hmmm seems like there are some other elected and former officials who did not go to trial over that.  He is guilty of releasing the name of a CIA employee well first that is not against the law now is it she was not covert or undercover and her own Husband released information about her work in the CIA.  Let me further ask any of you can you fully recall every conversation you had last year and exactly what was said during that conversation and all the people you mentioned?  If you can you are far better than me if you can’t well beware you could be found guilty just like Mr. Libby if you are ever questioned about something by the police.

Of course it's newsworthy. A senior member of the Bush administration is now a convicted felon. That in and of itself makes it newsworthy.

OK.  That would explain why it was in the newspaper. 

Why should they answer it.   If you are associated with Bush, you should be put in jail.

 It's sad how much hate politics has in it.  Why is it on both sides we are so happy when people do wrong.  This country needs to pull it's head out, get rid of all this two party hate where anyone who disagrees with us is a Right wing wacko or a Leftist extremist and be able to disagree without such crap.

Perception vs. Reality. Heh. Reality:

GUILTY of obstruction of justice, 

GUILTY giving false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and

GUILTY of committing perjury twice before the grand jury.

ACQUITTED on an additional count of making false statements to the F.B.I.

So, it IS Libby who is guilty. If/when Armitage is convicted, then I'll start an Armitage GUILTY thread.

Now, if only Libby would claim paternity of that baby, this would all blow over right-quick.

And how is this for irony:

No one knows better than Libby how politically hazardous a pardon can be. Before he became Cheney's chief of staff, Libby served as an attorney for Marc Rich, the financier whose pardon by President Bill Clinton in the last hours of his administration provoked a storm of complaints. Now he finds himself in the same situation as his onetime client, hoping for the beneficence of a president.

But I'm sure Bush won't pardon Scooter since he said at the beginning of the investigation that he doesn't tolerate this stuff.

It is getting plenty of talk. Air America won't stop talking about it. It's like they won the Superbowl. Fox News hasn't even mentioned it as 18 month olds smoking pot is a more important.

Fox news mentioned it... But somehow they got the story wrong... well I guess partially right.  But COME ON Fox news!  Maybe they also said he was guilty, but somehow I could see them leaving that out...

Who knew Fox News was soft on felons?

Oooohhh wait. This is one of those "Yeah, he's a felon but he's OUR felon" kind of thingies. Got it.

Let's wait and see if and when the sentencing takes place.  I bet if he gets hard time, he'll roll over on others like a $5 hoe.
