Woke up after working late last night, poured some coffee, logged on, started to scroll down the list for my not so common last name (Wheeler) and there it was !!!, heart rate went to 170,.............................. Then I realized it was Edward Wheeler and not me. Bummer.

Oh well, at least the cup of coffee is good.

I did not get in. Road bike for me.

Yesterday I told everyone I need a road bike unless I get into Kona then I need a tri bike.

this was at the Chicago Bike show.

I am on the list, I've spent the last 20 minutes just starring at in disbelief after running around the house like a maniac and freeking out the neighbor's kid. I think I have already validated my spot (IMFL in Nov), if not I'm doing the Eagleman in June.

I just did the general entry, no passport club. Didn't plan on another ironman until Lake Placid in 2008, but I think I'll be adjusting those plans. I am soooooo stoked!!!

Wow Way to go. glad to hear some general people made it since I was jsut general. Good job.

I guess now I just need to try to get into IMFL or IMMOO

yeah I forgot to tell you for those who all made it. We hate you all .

no dice for me... guess its IM Mooo for 08 then.. I can try for Kona next year... odds getting worse each year I think.. 200 should be 400 if you ask me...  bump the whole thing up to 4000...  oh well, my us general + passport donation for the year i guess.  hey at least I got an ironman id now... doh!

WOW - Crazy, horrible weekend, and no email from NA Sports, so I just figured I didn't get in. Thanks, Doughboy and others for their PM's. A few quick answers:

US Passport 3899 x $85 = $331,415

that is insane, but i'm more impressed than bitter. it's a brilliant money maker and they have my $85.

1/2 mil and they have to do nothing. Boston could probably make more moey for charity if they made a lotto then do the raise 3k and your in. I bet they would get over 100,000 lottery entraints.

NY Marathon gets like 60 - 70 thousand alone.

I have to admit that I was a little bit surprised that the winners have to pay the rest of the entrance fee. I sort of figured that was part of the prize. I'm not complaining, I'm just a little surprised.

I'm open to anyone's thoughts, suggestions, or hopes on what I can do with this opportunity. I want to make sure that y'all get to see the whole process.

Congrats Josh and southwestmba! Now we can have a little BT gathering in Kona . They made us show up Monday morning following IMAZ with checkbook in hand to secure our qualifying slots! You had from 7:30-9:00am to claim it or it wen to the roll down. We did recieve a cool Qualifying Certificate and interestingly, when I registered with Active.com, we were instructed to register as a Catagory 1 athlete. Lottery winners register as Catagory 2. I wasn't aware there was any distinction between AG qualifiers and lottery winner, was I incorrect?
