famelec - 2007-08-08 5:23 PM The weather forecast is showing low 80s for a high around race day.  I look forward to the cool weather!

Oh good!!!! That's about 15 degrees cooler than it was for my long brick this past weekend. And, it should be less humid than it is down here. And, apparently, I get shade on the run at Timberman. SWEET!!!!

MikeJ - 2007-08-08 2:40 PM Jeff and I are riding the course on Saturday if anybody is interested in joining us, say 7ish?
I am planning to head up there sunday but I might consider heading up there Sat although I am not sure I'll get there by 7pm

Sorry Jorge, I wasnt clear about the time.  We are going to ride the course @ 7AM.  Any chance you might want to come up a day early to ride the course instead?

LOL, I meant 7am

I am supposed to meet with an athlete on Sat but if I can re-schedule or switch it to sunday I'll send you a PM tomorrow night and I'll drive up there early to be there by 7AM. otherwise, enjoy the ride!

Just wanted to chime in and say hi.  My name is David Gillen and I'm doing this race for the first time.  I'm really excited about racing in this area as I have never been to NH, but it looks beautiful and I too am hoping for weather that is a lot more mild than the 105 heat indexes we've been hitting here recently in the Dallas, TX area.

Quick question: Do any of you locals have any recommendations for good places to eat in the area?  A great seafood place would be good, but any place that has good food and is reasonably priced would be fine too.

Thanks,

David

I just saw 78/60. That's a little better, because then it might at least be mid to upper 60s once we get out of the water.

That's what accuweather has right now...

Might be a bit cool for a few miles on the bike til you dry off, but think how great running will be!

Oh, I know. THe running will be AWESOME!!!

I just don't think I've ever done a tri in anything less than high 70s. I feel like I'll be freezing at the beginning of the bike. But, I guess it's all worth it for nice temps on the run !!!!!!!!!!!

Mid 70's would be great.

You should see the warehouse right now....It's 5000 sq feet, and it's FULL with stuff...Pallets of water, Gatorade, Clif Bars, Pepsi, CarbBOOM, etc....We actually move it around with a forklift.

Man, you all eat/drink alot of stuff.....

Does anyone know if we'll be able to get into the lake to do a swim on Friday? Not sure if it's open to athletes, or if the park has swimming open to everyone, etc. I have a short swim on my training plan for Fri and just want to make sure I will def be able to do it. Thanks!

Also, I heard the water temp was 76 earlier this week. Any word on what it is now?

After I rode the course on Saturday I took a nice cool dip in the lake right at the park. So I assume you'll be able to go for your swim. I'm not sure if it was as warm as 76, I would guess that is was low 70's. But that was also after my ride so it may have felt cooler.

Maybe we could plan on friday as it is a bit easier to hang out without stressing over sleep, packing and other stuff about the race

I'm in for dinner.  Friday sounds like a good idea, although I could be convinced otherwise.  Do any veterans of the race (Jorge?) have restaurant ideas?
