Swim
  • 29m 54s
  • 1584 yards
  • 01m 53s / 100 yards
Comments:

I wanted to go faster on the swim.
What would you do differently?:

I took it a little too easy on the way out and didn't draft much at all. I should practice mass swims prior to the next race.
Transition 1
  • 02m 33s
Comments:

Not bad for my first time.
What would you do differently?:

I would pay more attention to where I parked my bike and I would leave my shoes clipped on to my bike.
Bike
  • 1h 30m 15s
  • 24 miles
  • 15.96 mile/hr
Comments:

I was in pain.
What would you do differently?:

I need to train more for the bike leg. I was having a hard time getting comfortable on the bike and while I am happy given my level of training I really should train more.
Transition 2
  • 02m 36s
Comments:

I was tired! Definitely not bad for a first time.
What would you do differently?:

I would run and bike in the same shorts. I would also get the fast tie laces for my shoes.
Run
  • 58m 44s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

I am happy with the run although I was in a daze.
What would you do differently?:

I need to train more for the run. I felt the month off.
Post race
Warm down:

I rehydrated and ate food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The month off before the race and the limited bike prepardness really hurt me.

Event comments:

It was an excellent first race the organizers did an terrific job.

Thanks for the kind words. I definitely had fun and am off to Arizona at the end of October for the Quarterman. Not the best distances for me given the swim is only .6 miles but it should be fun given my friends are going to do it with me this time. I have 2 first timers who are doing it because I did LA and another friend who did the LA sprint who wants to try a longer course. Now if only I can keep from getting fourth out of the four of us.

Thanks again,
Mike
