Subject: Chamois cream on race day?
Has anyone every used chamois cream (Butt'r, etc.) on race day? I'm wondering how well it holds up during the swim. In another few weeks when the water gets warm enough around here for OWS I was going to try it out, but I thought I would ask BT first.

In another few weeks...We've already done several OWS, her in Rhymes with Fun.  I did my first over three weeks ago...mind you I still can't hear anything 'cuz my gonads are still shrunk up to my ears.

 Good question, though. I'm eager to see what others have to say!

I use it every time I get on my bike. I have had no problem with it after being in the water. I suspect that I put a little more on on race day just to make sure.

I find Body Glide works well for me, definitely stays on through the swim.

It's stayed on for me during the swim.  I do usually put it on a little thicker during a race so I worry about it coming off less.

If you haven't done it before, then remember the rule "Nothing new on race day".

I use it for every rie and race. I don't have any trouble with it breaking down in the swim. Another thing to do is put some on the night before as well to make sure your sking is nice and lubed up! I know, it sounds funny, but I have a sensitive hiney and I sweat a lot, so I get abrasion on long rides/races.

You can also put on some Shea butter or Emu oil the night before as well!
