Sunny
Total Time = 1h 38m 33s
Overall Rank = 40/180
Age Group = Novice Men
Age Group Rank = 33/125
Pre-race routine:

Wake up late, panic. Try to shove some yogurt and banana down my throat. Not a pleasant or successful experience.
Event warmup:

No warmup
Swim
  • 16m 53s
  • 820 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt better on this race swim than at the other two I have done. Not as much panic and better breathing, but still room to improve.
What would you do differently?:

Try and find a bit more room to swim.
Transition 1
  • 02m 17s
Comments:

Very long transisiton run, but I'm really pleased with the time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 53m 1s
  • 17 miles
  • 19.24 mile/hr
Comments:

Haven't spent a lot of time on the bike lately and it shows. I think that I should have knocked 2 or 3 minutes off of this time. Got passed an awful lot.
What would you do differently?:

Train more on the bike
Transition 2
  • 00m 57s
Comments:

Thrilled with this time. Dumped the bike put on my shoes and grabbed the race belt. I did have a really good spot between the bike and run exits.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 25m 27s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

Cramped up pretty bad from the start. Had to slow my pace a bit. Did not like the course with it's multiple loops that tease you past the finish line.
What would you do differently?:

Drink less on the bike, maybe take a couple more enduralytes
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around to bring HR down and went to cheer on the rest of the athletes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor nutrition and not enough training the last couple weeks before the race

Thought that swim time was good. If you are trying to catch Alice, you will have to put a propeller on your butt. Good race!

Great race Keith, what tremendous improvement in from race 1 to race 3. Awesome transition time.....maybe you should be teaching the transition clinics.
