Age Group Rank = 2/31
Pre-race routine:

well, its been quite a week. i almost didn't race, but last night decided i would go ahead and do it. couldn't find my tri suit and threw together my stuff at the very last minute. i didn't sleep well last night and felt dead tired this morning. had some kashi and some coffee. got a ride w/ tom from the tri team.
Event warmup:

met up w/ fellow bt'ers and county tri folk and milled around. did a little stretching and a little swimming.
Swim
  • 12m 31s
  • 528 yards
  • 02m 22s / 100 yards
Comments:

didn't even start my watch. i had such a rough week, i decided to just relax and enjoy myself. took it really easy on the swim. slowest swim ever, i think. 39/170 gender.
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Transition 1
  • 02m 43s
Comments:

again, took my time.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 36m 25s
  • 13 miles
  • 21.42 mile/hr
Comments:

my bike has been my home lately...so i just smiled and enjoyed the ride. tried not to look at my computer at all...just passed one person after another. one person passed me right out of t1, but i caught him w/in a mile. 2/170 gender!!!!
What would you do differently?:

nothing...well, strap my aero bottle down right. the velcro was turned the wrong way, so i had to keep messing with it to keep it from popping off.
Transition 2
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

again, didn't rush. saw kelly in t1, which was awesome.
Run
  • 25m 15s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

i'm really surprised by this run. the run is my weakness, and i haven't been running much this month at all. i just tried to settle into a comfortable pace. didn't check my times, but it did seem like i was getting passed by fewer people than normal. 37/170 gender
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

found some of the tri team folks and cheered for the bt folk. found out results. thought i had 4th, but that was w/ the elites mixed in. beat 4 of the 7 elites on the bike. woo hoo!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of sleep, DOMS from roller girl try outs, and a hell of a stressful week.

Event comments:

i LOVE minneman. i'm SOOOOOO glad i raced today! 15/170 gender

Who knows, if you just get a little time in the saddle you may be able to avoid your embarrassing performance on the bike and get to that top podium spot.

Nice race, Autumn!

Glad you made it to the race, Autumn! Did I hear them announce you as "April" Connell at the awards ceremony, or are you racing under a pseudonym this year? I mean, April's a nice name and all, but it just doesn't have the same impact as "Dee Railer"!

Keep kickin' it on the bike!

Way to finish strong Autumn

Your bike split is very impressive (As expected) and you finished out with a very strong run.

2nd Place AG is fantastic.

Good On Ya
