Pre-race routine:

Dress up in Halloween costume

  • 10 kms

Comments:

Dressed as William Wallace, so I was a little chilly in my kilt. Took a couple of miles to warm up. Pretty good run though, with my pb 10k time.
What would you do differently?:

Not have a halloween party the night before. Getting to bed at 3am made for a really early morning.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking, slow jog out to the parking lot and back.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Besides my kilt? My legs were a little heavy. Wind was good, though.

Event comments:

Great race with some great costumes. Had lots of fun.

You went to bed at 3AM!?!  Wow, I had to get up at 4:30 for my race.  Why'd you bother even going to bed!?  Great time.  Sounds like you had a blast.

Thanks, Sharon. Yeah, I had a lot of fun... I think I even managed to leach most of the red wine out of my system.
Got to meet Laerka and Pooh Bear from the forum too, so twice as cool.

Great run shrike. Congrats on the PB! I couldn't run after a night of drinking. You are a better man than I!

Let's not get crazy, Tony. I actually didn't feel too bad once I got out there. Surprising what adrenaline can do for you.
