Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! The November Challenge is almost over! This month's Challenge is almost over. How times flies when we're having fun! Please update your Google Spreadsheets with your final totals by "bedtime" on Saturday. This will give everyone a chance to get their last workouts in on Friday November 30th, and enter their totals the following day. You do NOT need to calculate percentages. I will do that. (Yes, you can do it if you want to....) On Sunday morning, I will download the spreadsheets and start summing up the data. IF YOUR INFORMATION ISN"T ENTERED BY THE TIME I DOWNLOAD THE SPREADSHEETS, I WILL ASSUME THAT YOU HAVE NOT MET YOUR GOALS! Team Captains - Please check your team threads on Saturday. If anyone has trouble using the Google Spreadsheets, please help them to enter their data. Run! Swim! Bike! Get those last minute workouts in! There's still time!!! Saturday is December 1st. It's also the first day of the SWIM CHALLENGE! If you haven't already done so, don't forget to sign up for the fun! Dee |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! How's everyone doing? I have less than 2 miles to run and one more strength session - I'll do both tonight after class. I don't think I'm going to lose that last pound, but 4 pounds in a month is not bad. |

Member 28 Newport News, VA | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! I'm exhausted and I feel ill. Not just run-down ill, but I-feel-like-I-could-puke-at-any-moment ill. Spin class was rough this morning because of that. I just don't think I can run today. We'll see. I may run a bit. But I'm going to convert my 4.4 mi left of running into 6.6 miles of walking the dogs today. I don't want to just give up, so I'm modifying a bit. (Does this count for that newfangled calculation method?) Besides, I think the dogs will enjoy it, too. (2 weekends in a row at the kennel can't be too fun. They've been really needy this week.) If I feel better and can run some of it, great. But at this point, not being ill for my getaway with my hubby is more important. If this were training... If this were a race... it would be a different story. I'd push it. But a good weekend with my hubby is more important to me right now. I hope you guys forgive me. I've worked really hard this week not to let you down. On a bright note, I've met all my other training goals, and managed to lose 2.5 pounds. It may not seem like a lot, but it is to me considering my schedule this month. |

Expert 941 WA | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! The fact that you're so close despite your schedule amazes me Mindy! Don't worry, you've done a great job! I just have < 3 miles to run today, and I'm all done. Woooooo! This is my highest run volume month ever. Go Me! |

Elite 3022 Preferably on my bike somewhere | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! Well, I'm didn't have any luck entering week 3, so I'll post my week 4 totals. Week 4 - 90min. Unfortunately, I missed my time goal. If I didn't have a race on Sunday, I would have put in the final 30 minutes I think I need, but I wanted to make sure my taper week was my taper week. D.Z. missed his goal and is ready to accept his punishment. |

I'd be in bed! Great showing on your goals, both of you. How's everyone else? Artemis-thanks for your ad hoc spreadsheet help and checking in. What do we put for our signature? |

Elite 3022 Preferably on my bike somewhere | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! Well, I added my time for week 4 into the spreadsheet (I got the link) and somehow, it added up to 585 minutes, which is 5 minutes OVER my goal. I think the error that was made was my week 1 totals. I think the minutes reported week 1 included that time from the last few days of October, which included a 10k run (from a duathlon). Did we include the last few days of Oct in the challenge? |

Elite 3022 Preferably on my bike somewhere | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! Hey Dee - thanks for putting this together. On a personal success story kinda thing, I ran a 10miler today - a single track trail run and had negative splits the whole race. My GPS said there was 2300' elevation gain, but I am skeptical. Although, it did feel like we were either going up or down the whole race. I am really thrilled and excited and had a great time. I ran the final 6 miles with minimal walking (some hills were too steep and treacherous to run up), and the first 4 miles were slowed because of slower people in front of me. I didn't set the world on fire, nor did I even finish in the back of MOP, but it was a great experience, and if it weren't for the challenges last month and this month, I'm not sure I would have been able to do it. So YAY for challenges!! And YAY for Turkey Terrors! |
