Celebrating over 100 miles of running this month...

Veteran  230   Minnesota |  Subject: Celebrating over 100 miles of running this month...I just had to celebrate that I reached 103.7 miles this month of running, all of it outside between 5-6 am! (Other than my Saturdays and Turkey Run). I just starting running about 3 1/2 years ago after being overweight (lost about 35 pounds) and coming from a family that has heart and obesity issues. This January I will run in my first ever half marathon in Phoenix. Just wanted to celebrate some warm fuzzies on this last cold morning of November. |

Extreme Veteran 502 Woodbury, | Subject: RE: Celebrating over 100 miles of running this month... Great work! With all that cold-weather base, though, you may be setting yourself up for disaster in Phoenix. My recommendation is to run the Securian Half here at the end of January, instead. |

Veteran 230 Minnesota | Subject: RE: Celebrating over 100 miles of running this month... Just wanted to thank everyone for your kind words!! Minnesota winter has finally arrived. Did anyone do the Reindeer Run today? I would have loved to have taken a picture of the large number of people standing in the snow waiting for the start. Could have posted on the Arizona BT blogs or something. Only people from WAY up north would stand in a huge mass of people waiting to run around a frozen (well, at least starting to) lake. Loved it though!! It was so fun that my brother and I kept running past the finish line and ran the 5K again. Enjoy the snow everyone! |
