Subject: Oldest Race Shirt

Ok, this one's not mine, it's my dad's.  Found it while cleaning out a drawer of my dresser.  Any other 'antique' shirts out there?

that's a very cool shirt.  How did it end up in your dresser?

BTW, my dad has a shirt from the Falmouth Road Race, about the same year.  I doubt I could sneak it away from him!

I think my oldest are my MT SAC Relays shirts from 1986 and 1987, and my Bay to Breakers shirts from 1987 and 1988.

Nicked it from his dresser!    Really though, when I was pretty little I used to wear his old race shirts to bed...guess this one stayed with me somehow.

Didn't get my first race shirt until after high school and the Naval Academy Prep. School, so not until around '91 or so - they never gave out shirts at high school and collegiate events.  Who knows where it is now .......

I go through and clean them out every few years and toss them in the rag bag.  So the oldest I have now is my '04 Baltimore marathon shirt.  Ancient ..

Have a couple of items depending on how old is an 'antique'. 

First is my Marine Corp Marathon shirt from 1993.  Second is not a race shirt (they didn't give us shirts) but instead the jacket from the sweat suit they gave the athletes back when I competed in the nordic skiing events at the 1981 Empire State Games.
