Less than a week away.  The extended forecast looks good but I really don't think they can predict that far out.  We should have a BT meeting place.  I have never done this race before so maybe someone who knows the venue can pick one.

Are they having two different start times for the full and half like last year??  I thought they were...  I most likely won't be able to meet up with y'all then..

last year the full was an hour earlier then the 1/2

My family lived THIS close to WRL before I went to college, but some of the things I did in college have prevented me from recollecting a good meeting point.  I wonder if there is an Einsteins Bagel place around there?  Then again, if there is, 10,000 other people are probably thinking the same thing.  Let's go reverse psychology and meet at IHOP.  DPD could hand out tickets for indecent exposure with our nary-covering-the-body run attire and we could freak out all of the people there who are eating as they sober up from the previous nights imbibing.

High of 78.. even if they are off by 20 degrees, it could have been so much worse...or better if you like frozen lungs.  I prefer purple ozone warnings and triple digits, myself.

If you thinking of meeting up the day of it's usually easiest to just pick a Gate number at the AAC and meet there or as Aaron suggested

What's the story with iPods during the race...yes or no or no but they won't enforce it.  If yes, I need to get some new angry somgs to make me move faster!

As long as it's not as windy as it was yesterday, that's all I really care.

Last time I ran the White Rock, in 95; it was 17 degrees at start and didn't get above freezing the whole race. I looked like a snowball with all the clothes I had on!!

I believe it says not ipods but don't know how they will enforce.  It really depends if you like to break the rules or not.  Me personally if they say no ipod/mp3 I don't use it.

oh by the way...

has anyone signed up for the athlete tracking yet??  it will send your splits as a text to a cell phone, email or pager..  If someone is wondering when you will get done this comes in handy..especially if it's cold or rainy they can be indoors and get to the finish line in time.. it's not an every mile tracking but still pretty cool..

unfortunately most of my friends hang out by the hooter girl water stop and never leave

I could run beside you and sing Achy Breaky Heart. That would make you go faster.

Marcy - I researched that conundrum on the Wellstone website and copied and pasted what seemed pertinent to us regarding iPods... scroll to the bottom to find my post.

I am bringing mine.  Wearing it will be a race-time decision.

I put together the half-mary course on Gmap-Pedometer, the numbers are a little off(it shows as 12.9) but I probably just cut a couple corners on my double-click rampage. Anyway, here it is.

Just cut the same corners when you run and you'll have a faster time. Although you probably didn't map the first mile as a series of zig-zags as you go around the people who are already walking.

Looks like they changed the forecast today

Now a 60% chance of rain and a cold front is coming in, So it should be relatively windy.....

It seems like the closer it gets, the worse the weather forecast is looking. Now it seems there is a 60% chance of rain, humidity high and wind! YUCK! That is really bummin me out!

Will the Jonnie [JBrashear} curse of rain be showing up this sunday at white rock??

Will Clint's recent great luck of getting engaged keep him from some sort of race injury?

these are the most important topics heading into this race
