Distance Team D's Google Spreadsheet is now available!

1) Go to:

2) You will need to enter this info:
email address: [email protected]
password: challengeforum

3) The ONLY column that you will need to update is "Total Completed to Date."
This is the total amount that you have completed as of the reporting date.

3) You can update the spreadsheet as often as you'd like. However....

Your cumulative amounts must be entered in this spreadsheet by Sunday evening, your time on the following days:
- Jan 6
- Jan 13
- Jan 20
- Jan 27
- Jan 31

4) If you have trouble using this spreadsheet, please let your Team Captain know. He/she will be able to help you, or will enter the data for you.

If you have any questions, just let me know!

Welcome to the January Challenge!

This is my second challenge - I did the swim challenge last month - Snowballer's rocked!!!!! I am a terrible runner- which is why I am doing this challenge. I live in the midwest, so it is snow and ice central here right now. I will - however - complete the challenge. As for a name - I have no idea - will have to give that some thought.

Attn Team Captains:

Team Name changes

Once you have decided on a team name, let myself or Dee know - we both have access to change the names.

Dee is on the road today, and I will be headed out for a few hours in an hour or so, so the change may not be made until this evening

hmmmm, looks like you also need a captain - any volunteers?

really it's easy - you just need to check the spreadsheet on the designated dates and make sure your teammates are updating their mileage

it's also nice if you can provide a little additional inspiration

Hello all.. Sorry so late joining in on the chat.

This is my 3rd challenge, and they are awesome. Last year I was on target to break 200 miles in my first year of running until I got sick during the Thanksgiving Holiday. No I am getting back on the pavement and hamster wheel this month with a 25 mile goal.

Pilot, if you want to take Captain and I can help out where ever you need me just let me know.

Team Names... Hhhmm....

  • Team Excel
  • The Distance
  • The Pavement Pounders
  • Team Eat my Dust!

That's all I can think of off the top of my head!   Go Team!!!

Been busy watching my Dawgs stomp Hawaii - but I came up with these so far -

Super Heoes in Training
Jumping Amazing Super Optomistic Thunder Squad
Will Run For Food
Runaway Train

Big Test Icicles (probably best for a men's team)

I'll keep working.

Hi guys. I'm Kelley. This is my 4th challenge. Started in October and have been doing one every month. And since I dislike running the most, I chose running this month. In November, the challenge is what kept me going to get my running time in.

Okay, granted I don't really "run" per se. It's more like a slightly fast shuffle interspersed with walking. I got a Forerunner 305 for XMas and have run with it twice...my jog/run pace seems to go anywhere between 15 minutes or so (might be a satellite reading problem though) and about 9 minutes (I was floored when I saw that number pop up!).

Leg pain is my limiter on running so for most of January I plan on not upping the amount of running I do. I will be running 12 minutes out of every 30+ minute workout. I'm hoping that a little strength training and staying at this same amount will help my legs catch up with my triathlon enthusiasm.

Anyway, so far I like Team Scrambled Legs personally since that is what my legs feel like most days after a run/walk.

Howdy! I'm Tom, getting a day late start because I was driving yesterday. I'm trying to get 50 miles in with a week long ski trip in the middle. I start a plan for HIM Kansas ont he 21st though so that will help. Good Luck everyone!
