  • Comments: Hot and Humid at start and got worse as it went on. Only drank 1/2 water bottle on bike because I'm stupid. Cramped 1/2 mile into the run. Struggled and it generally sucked. Ran well the last 1/2 mile, not necessarily tired or winded, just cramped.

  • Comments: This race was a lot of fun in spite of the weather! It is a good place to get started or to train through a race. The organizers did a great job relative to the size of the event. Even though it took a long time to get everyone through the swim, it was nice to only have to share a lane with one other person. Having chip timing next year and hopefully splits with the results will be a nice improvement, but I would highly recommend this race.

  • Comments: The following are comments I made to my club about the race after it was done: I stuck around the finish area and see George, club member Jason, and Herb Spicer finish. We all talked for some time and clapped for others finishing. Talk to club member Dan Pfeil who was here for support. I then walked over to the pool area as there were still many others who had yet to start the race. Checked out the numbers on folks and found a new friend I recently met online via BeginnerTriathlete.com. Her name is Linda (or online Terps421). It was great to again meet someone you just exchange messages with. From her logs, she's a good distance runner, does weight training, and is improving her swim and cycling abilities. So, we discussed tris, the race, the Frederick Tri Club, cycling, and where she lived. Turns out Boonsboro, so we'll have to get together for some rides as I have a few routes I like to do there. And looking post race at the BT website, which has a section devoted to discussing

  • Comments: Ken was a little short on volunteers this year. It was pouring down rain in the AM. I was standing on the pool deck w/ sheets of rain coming down. However, it's a great course and he is a great guy. I look forward to returning and hoping Drew can participate in the kids tri soon.

  • Comments: I have to give this race a 5. It was my first and can never be beat. I had a great time. The volunteers were helpful and friendly. The racers were the same. I felt like I left what I had on the course that day. Although there are many places where I have room for improvement, I couldn't be happier about how I did. Fourth in my age group (out of 19) isn't so bad for a newbie!

  • Comments: This is a great race. It started late and had a lack of volunteers due to the stormy weather. As the awards ceremony began (6hrs . after the race started), the last female finisher was walking by. The RD asked for us to applaud her. When we did, she started running, and ran about 300 yds. to the finish line with lots of applause. That was Inspiring!! I had so much fun at this race.

  • Comments: Great race, unfortunately with the rain they lost some volunteers and were not able to get splits... Next year they are going to timing chips so should be better.

  • Comments: Rain caused minor delays. Splits and transition times would be nice, but I know I could improve on everything. I finished literally just under 1:38 (1:37:59.7), and I am still surprised.

  • Comments: Extremely happy with today's race --- finishing 2nd overall is something I am really proud of and how can you be disappointed losing to an amazing triathlete like Herb. He is incredible!! It's pretty cool that I set a goal for the race to finish in the top 3 overall and I was able to accomplish it - as well as my other goal of running a sub-20min 5K. Hagerstown Sprint - DONE and I met my goals! NorthEast Olympic - ??? Augusta 70.3 - ???
