  • Comments: This is a very well run event. After 17 years, the organizers have this one down to a science. The course is set for a fast race. They do a good job of creating a celebratory feel at the finish, with a live band & a pretty good spread from the Buckhorn Exchange.

  • Comments: This was my first Platte River Half and it is a very well run event. I would have rated it a 5 if not for two things: With all the microbrews in Denver and they have Michelob Ultra... :( I would prefer to not have to drive to Littleton the day before the race for packet pick-up Pretty minor stuff though. Maureen and Steve have done a great job with this race and it's one I will do again!

  • Comments: This is a great and well supported race, lots of volunteers, and a well-provisioned post-race. Too bad they don't have a CO brewery in the sponsor fold.

  • Comments: This was a great race for me. I PR'd this distance by about 7 minutes. My goal was to take it easy on the first mile maybe run an 8:20, then try and hold an 8:00 for the remaining distance. I always seem to have a tough time holding back on the first mile. It just seems so effortless, running with the pack. I didn't even look down at my garmin for the first couple of miles. I just ran on feel and it felt good. Now I was thinking I just need to keep my HR below LT (167) until I get to mile 10. Then I would see if I could push the last 5k. I started to lose some focus after mile 8, and found myself slowing a bit. I would just file in behind someone who seemed to be pacing well, only to have that runner slow a bit. Probably conducive to a narrow course where it can get congested. I made my move at mile 12 and figured I'd go as hard as I could. Once I hit the final hill I just pushed even harder. I thought I was going to puke when I reached the top. Once at the top,

  • Comments: I really liked this race - loved the flat/downhill course. Way easier than the Baltimore half marathon! If I can fix my injury I might try it again next year.

  • Comments: Very well-organized race. Could've been more volunteers at a few of the aid stations but since I wasn't in a huge hurry I didn't worry about it. A couple of them had themes which was fun. Not a great race for someone who needs a lot of crowd support, but it was a nice run along the river and course was not too crowded once everyone spread out a little.

  • Comments: Very well run race. Picked up my packet in the morning and that was quick and easy. Again, the actual start was a little confusing but I really liked that they organized it by goal pace. Now if we can just get runners to seed themselves properly...

  • Comments: Good to see a lot of BTers and others out there. Makes the racing more fun, especially when it was more of a non-race day like this. I thought the race was run well with it starting right on time and there being enough volunteers, etc. I was alays able to get everything I needed at the aid stations and the post-race was good as well. Good race to kick off the season with.

  • Comments: Shouldn't bitch too much. Had an 8:30ish pace, but I really wanted 8 or better. It is early on, and this was definitely an eye-opener for me. I have to spend more time in the lower zones, and focus on maintaining muscle fitness in more than just my calves. I've been so deadset on getting my PF better that I kinda forgot I have other muscles to deal with. Next race will smoke though...I feel it!

  • Comments: This is a good early-season race/training event. I would definitely like to see more aid stations on the course, and better post-race food. With a little more prep on my part, this could be a very nice race.

  • Comments: The aid stations weren't staffed very well - I had to wait for water or grab it from behind the volunteers because they weren't handing it fast enough. And COOK YOUR DAMN HAMBURGER MEAT. Raw hamburger after running 13.1 miles was just plain traumatic.
