  • Comments: This was a bit disappointing.- had hoped to do better and missed top 3 in my age group by 2 minutes. Seemed like more fast people this year - maybe I was just slow - winner was from NY!?!. The RD needed more volunteers and volunteers with experience. I saw people go off course - some inadvertently, and at least one on purpose. If this RD group continues to next year, maybe they'll improve. Its a local race, but could be managed better.

  • Comments: My home town race. Challenging course, enthusiastic crowd. Numbers were down this year, but still a nice event. Enjoyed it.

  • Comments: Only this - I'm really tired of events that don't stock WOMEN specific jerseys. AND the ones that don't, need to carry extra smalls. I have a collection of event shirts I will never wear. Sounds like a picky thing (and a first world problem) but I paid for that?! Come on!! AND I'm not the smallest woman in the group by a long shot!

  • Comments: Good race, but the new run course was strange figure 8-like course. Adjusting for the new run course distance, I was actually slower than last year, but I had a good time and it's always great to do with my sons.

  • Comments: ANother fine job by the Ellington team (Bill D). Lots of enthusiatic volunteers. New run course was a major improvement. I admit, I was disappointed - 5th place (great - very cool!), but 3rd in AG, so no podium action - oh well. Maybe when I turn 50! I really want one of those commemorative glasses!

  • Comments: I took first in my AG last year here and 3rd the year before. Took 2nc in AG in tolland this spring. This race was my most disappointing to date. Very humbling. I will reevaluate my plan. I am writing this 4 months later as it was so hard to write. I have adjusted my plan and have been running much much more. I think I realized all of the easy gains I had a available going from sedentary to racing. Now I need to really earn the gains through more dedication and consistency.

  • Comments: Really well organized race. Very easy going crowd. People were very talkative and supported each other. I really like this race. I was also happy to do it with my kids. This is the second year we've done it together and I hope it becomes an annual tradition.

  • Comments: Happy with time - 3 minutes better than last year. THis year had a few better competitors, so my improvement did not result in a higher spot. Still, made my goal of top 10 and pleased with my race. Race organizer (Bill D) is a Saint and is a great person for organizing this, when I know he would rather be competing. All volunteers were fantastic. It's a nice home town event!!!

  • Comments: This is about the most fun you can have for $60 while trying not to puke. This race is well organized, lot of volunteers at every traffic intersection, a great crowd showing, and family friendly. I'll probably do this race until the day I quit racing.

  • Comments: Good local race. Tough hills. Friendly competition. It was fun to do it with my sons. THis was my first Triathlon (since 1986), so I have a long way to go....

  • Comments: I would have liked to see gatorade/bananas out for the racers pre-race. Volunteers were quite numerous, enthusiastic, and much appreciated. As I said, this is a fun and challenging sprint course, forcing you to punish your body at times knowing that there is a chance for recovery once you get to the top of the next hill. I plan to return next year.

  • Comments: First year they did it, and it was my first tri. Seemed well organized. Started almost on time (scheduled to start at 8:00 wave 1 was swimming at 8:05). I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to a long tri career :)
