  • Comments: Great race. Glad I did it to get me ready early in the season. My 1st race has been in August. Temp was ideal, both water and air. Very well done race by Athleta.

  • Comments: LOVED the atmosphere of the race and the kindness of other racers. hard first course b/c of hills on bike and run, post-race was AMAZING-really helped racers feel special - lots of cheering and encouragement out on course. Really great first race from certain aspects and harder from others but overall - LOVED it and want to do it again - with better training and now more experience. Certainly helped develop a love of the Tri in me.

  • Comments: Mandatory day before check in was a mess. Too many registrants not enough volunteers/staff that day. Venue was insufficient for that many people! No signage for directions where to go. Road blocks everywhere and no one to ask where to go. No maps or information provided. Very frustrated day before the race. Race day was much better.

  • Comments: I loved this race and had so much fun! The only suggestion I would give is to do a better job with clearing the roads inside the park. The cars blocking the roads inside Lake Lanier Island to prevent bikers from passing them was inexcusable during a race. There should have been better car traffic management.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race and it was the best pic for my first triathlon. I am not ready to tackle what is remaining of the season. This is probably a race I will not return to but overall it was a great event.

  • Comments: I've been doing about 10 races/year for the past few years. If I only do one race next year, this one will be it! Very well organized, well supported with volunteers and spectators, and the honor of racing with some of the top Pros in the world was a cool experience. Also knowing that NBC was filming the event made it that much better. It was my first time racing IronGirl and I was very impressed.

  • Comments: I really do like this race! It's organized and fun, plus racing with all girls is awesome. They also do a lot of cool stuff like- printed race results at the finish, lots of pink everywhere, lots of IronGirl branded freebies at the expo, 'fake' mimosas at the finish. I think my only complaint is that they could do a little better going over some beginner rules for triathlon- how and where to set up your t-area, where to rack your bike, rules about passing on the bike, etc. Maybe they did do this and no one listened. Who knows.

  • Comments: Very well run race. Little problem with announcement's at race start, but otherwise well marked. I felt VERY safe of the ride which is always my biggest concern. Cafe after event was first class! Will be there next year...hopefully in better health and can place in age group (top three goal).

  • Comments: If it hadn't been for the swim instructions, I think it was the best organized race I have ever been to. It was fun being in a all women's event. They had a table clothes on the tables and lot of fun give aways. I would recommend this race to anyone. I think it is a very challenging first race, however.

  • Comments: IMO, for a race that has so many first timers, I'm surprised thay have an 18 mi. bike. It would be quite easy to nix a couple streets and make it 15 or 16. Really great supporters and volunteers. I hear the post race food was good but I didn't stick around for it, I wanted some Cracker Barrel. Overall good set up. I love Lake Lanier, but they have got to do something about that hill up to T1. I'm sure I'll do it again, it was a great experience. And it was really nice to be one of the one's that cheered first timers on. I was happy to be that girl today. I think I'll have to do that more often.

  • Comments: Really happy with today's race. I feel like I can still improve my swim (but at least I didn't panic) and I can also improve my run. Was happy to run as well as I did cause I had a pretty bad cramp in my left quad from that tough bike. And I didn't walk at all. Last year this was my first race and my time was 2:01 so I have come a long way. As Dan pointed out, my picture from last year showed that I had a side view mirror on my bike - this year no mirror and aero bars!

  • Comments: It was a fantastic race. Truly. As my second foray into the world of Triathlon, I am amazed at how friendly everyone is. And I really do love the energy that is in the air at these races. It makes me want to dive in head first to this world of tri. And learn as much as I can. The race organizers did a fantastic job, and as much as I hated taking my bike up the first day, I'm glad I did because I made it to the race a little late Sunday morning and was rushed setting up transition. It would have been worse lugging my bike with me. The race course was laid out well with organizers all along the route cheering us on and directing at every turn. The run course had 2 aid stations, which gave us lots of chances to get fluids. Spectators cheered everyone on, even in the later portions of the race. Personally, this race reminded me a lot of the Georgia Marathon (my second marathon). I had the same feelings of frustration, which turned into motivation. Motivation to train properly

  • Comments: Good race overall- especially for their first time in Atlanta. The expo was kinda small...but maybe it's because I was there for 8 hrs on Saturday. Everything seemed well organized and I'd do this one again. The shirts were pretty cool, but I'd like if it said 'IronGirls Triathlon- Atlanta' or something insead of just saying 'IronGirls' and no race detail.

  • Comments: This was a great race. GA Multisports, RYKA, and IronGirl really did a fantastic job with this race. The volunteers (at least half of them were from North Atlanta Multisport Club) were awesome! The course is not super easy and definitely not super hard, so Lake Lanier is a good venue for a race. The after race finish area at this race was the best I have seen so far. I didn't get to enjoy the food spread they had because I went back to water stop one until that closed down, but it looked like they had some decent food. The tables with the tablecloths and flowers were a great touch, and it looks like they were giving out some neat raffle prizes when I made it back to the area. If the race returns next year, I will definitely put it on my race schedule.

  • Comments: The only issue I have with the race is the traffic on Holiday making it very difficult to pass. Otherwise there were more than enough water stations with excellent volunteers.

  • Comments: Wonderful event organization and traffic control on bike ride! There were lots of volunteers and police to help direct us... never had a doubt in my mind about which way to turn or go next during the entire race! Lake Lanier Islands is a crowed place though and Saturday registration and bike check-in were a bit hectic. I heard from my hubby that it was relatively tough for spectators to find the right place to watch and navigate to/from the swim start. Course was open to traffic, which was frustrating for drivers and spectators. (No issues at all for the participants.) I did not stay for the catered breakfast after the race, but I did check out the buffet... very nice!! Course was not necessarily too hard... I just needed more training before hand. Definately need to work on endurance in some lower traning (heart rate) zones. I had a great time!! Lots of encouragement from other participants and volunteers.
