  • Comments: A lot of goodies, but no finishers medal. I thought this race would have had more racers. Not even 500 raced. But there is no room at the swim transition for more people.

  • Comments: I like this race. It's local, very organized and I know the course. They've been doing this race for over 20 years so they know what they are doing. They also give out the best swag. This year it was a running jacket, socks and a hat. BT was well represented at the race. Docswim was 13th overall and 3rd out of the water. Damn he's fast.

  • Comments: This race doesn't give medals, but they have fabulous goodie bags. we got a nice shell jacket, hat and socks. I would have also appreciated it if the bike course were a little wider. things felt a little cramped. Overall I was thrilled with this race. I never would have believed that I could get this time in first year of triathlon and only my second oly. I was absolutely shocked when i crossed the finished line and looked at my watch. ...and even more shocked when ryan noticed that i had to stick around to pick up an age group award. totally totally unbelievable! all and all I will definitely do this again. it's right in my back yard. it also has a special place in my heart because it is my first age group win. YAY! hopefully more to come.

  • Comments: Great race - they have been doing this race 20 something years and it shows. Lots of volunteers and support. The swag is the best around - jacket, hat, water bottle, cold towel, etc.

  • Comments: Looking Forward The times cited above came from my watch; my own chip did not in fact work. I expected not to get an official final time, but I should have gotten swim and bike splits, since I made those cutoffs. Set-Up Inc. is working on this. So there's one lesson learned: don't use your own chip. Three years into this, there remains much, much room for improvement. Here's what do I have to do to improve my time: * overcome swim panic * don't drop below 10 mph on uphills * run, don't walk * lose weight. I have learned that this must be a conscious effort; it's not going to follow naturally from increased activity. If it did, I'd already be much lighter. To achieve these goals, I plan the following: * swim in wetsuit more * swim w/o wetsuit in cold water more * serious winter bike trainer sessions, not just dinking around in front of the TV * bike on hills * emphasize running * lots of bricks * create and follow a *real* nutrition plan So my third season has come

  • Comments: This is a good local race. They've been doing it for 23 years and they have got it down. There are some funky aspects to the race but they have worked with the community to limit the impact. It's well supported by volunteers and I always like the swag. This year they gave a blanket, running hat and running socks. Plus a towel and water bottle. All useful things and I can always use more hats and socks.
