  • Comments: They pulled the water station at mile 2 this year. Which messed me up. They also got the shirt order screwed up, so I was not able to get a shirt. They had beer, bagels, oranges, bananas, cookies, and pizza at the finish line. Also a live band and a whole bunch of raffles. Including a tri bike raffle. Nice!! This race continues to be a lot of fun for me. I am sure I will be back next year. I got to meet daveo1101, jniekrasz and jowisc out there. Very cool. This was my next door neighbor's first triathlon. I saw here at the beginning and she could not figure out how to put her wetsuit on. She looked scared to death. I helped her get it on (the wetsuit) and helped her find the right place in line. Saw her at the end and I think she is hooked. I think I will point her to BT.

  • Comments: For my first I came in about what I expected - yesterday I predicted 1:45. I don't feel elated, but I do feel satisfied. I learned some things about myself 1)I enjoy interacting with people - the volunters and other racers. 2) I can enjoy myself even if I am not competative. 3) I need to lose more weight 4) Concentrate on run and bike in training 5) I'll be back!

  • Comments: This was a nice, very well organized race. There aren't lots of spectators (in fact none until the very end) but it's a great bike and run course. And honestly, the swim's not that bad either. I'll be there again next year!

  • Comments: This is a great race for a first timer to get use to open water while swimming in a sandy bottomed pool. I will try to get this race into my schedule each year I compete in sprints because it is a great early season race.

  • Comments: It's just the swim course that bothered me, I hated having to run in part of it. Otherwise it's VERY well organized, with GREAT volunteers.

  • Comments: I won't forget my first triathlon! Very cool experience and it was great to meet up with a couple guys from the triscoop.com forum. They were both very friendly guys. BTW, one of the guy's training partner was the overall winner of the triathlon. After the race I had the pleasure to be interviewed by Jumpy and he told me that he was going to submit it to Brett of triscoop.com. I can't wait to hear it. I was a little discouraged during the interview because I thought I placed near the bottom of my age bracket (27/35), but all the race results weren't in yet. I was later more pleased to read that I placed 27th out of 48 in my age bracket; which is what I thought I would do. I am usually a "mid-packer" in my age group so it was nice to see that my mediocrity held up! ha! Anyhow, I am not signed up for another triathlon until Chicago, but I plan on joining a few more before August. I would like to do the Harbor Lights triathlon, the Lake Geneva triathlon, and the Naperville triathlon before

  • Comments: Traffic control, drink stations, and volunteers were awesome. Pretty well organized. The swim portion was a disaster with the water temperature and sandbars, but it turned out for the best. Nobody drowned as a result.
