  • Comments: It turns out Adams took in a bunch of water and started throwing up. You can read about his list of excuses here. Never the less, I beat him and am accordingly crowned World Champion (In my mind). Karin did great as well and you can read about that here. Another Desert Tri in the books. Can't wait to race next year. Sponsors: Buy these items: Wattie Ink, Herbalife 24, blueseventy, ISM, Power Bar, Speedfil, Reynolds Wheels, SpiderTech, Rudy Project, Hypoxico, 10 Barrel Brewing, 454 Tattoo, Tri Bike Transport Also thanks to Blair Ferguson at Ventura Athletics and my coach Brian Stover. Thanks to Buns....she's the best!

  • Comments: This was a good race and the lake Cahuilla venue is awesome, I love it out there in the desert. Its a nice break from the cool coastal temps in San Diego. I would like to see a beer tent and maybe a kids activities area with bouncy houses for the stressed out moms waiting on their husbands or vice versa.

  • Comments: Very well organized. Well marked. Interesting and enjoyable run course. Bike course has enormous potential for some real speed. Only suggestion--make the wave start times 5 mins, rather than 3 to spread the swim waves out a bit more.

  • Comments: Results: http://raceresults.eternaltiming.com/index.cfm/20100307_Desert_Tria... Loved this race. There were lots of smiles at the finish, and few if any complaints about the organization. The sprint distance lucked out, as the weather held until I was at the car. The poor oly people raced in a downpour.

  • Comments: This was a great event for my first triathlon: calm (but cold) water and flat bike and run courses. Unfortunately, I think it's just too far from home (3-hour drive) to be a viable option in the future.

  • Comments: I just love this little race in the desert. There weren't as many people there this year as last though. Probably something do to with the economy. The Klein-Clark folks do a great job of organizing and have music at the front end and back and a good announcer and nice noshing food and lots of water and friendly and plentiful volunteers. They are on time and it's really a great way to start the season. My DH says I should do this race every year as a tune up and to get a gauge on how I'm doing from year to year. I'm all for it. It was a really nice getaway with my husband and we found a really great fish market/restaurant that had lots of choices on fresh grilled fish and shellfish and salads, which is right up my alley. It really is a pretty spot with the reddish mountains framing the desert and the snow-capped peaks off in the distance. It warmed to 80 by the time we got out of there around 1 p.m. They do have long thermometers in the desert. Yeah for my first tri of the year!

  • Comments: I had a great time. I kind of felt like this was my first "real" triathlon, my first was a mini-sprint and had the pool swim. It felt really good to get through the OWS and perform well on the bike. I kind of had a goal to get into the top 20 in my age group. I went over the results from last year and was shooting for 1:33 to get into the top 20. Since I have not done any sprint distances before I was just going off the 1:33 as my goal. I feel very satisfied to come in 12th. I think next year my goal will be to crack the top ten.
