It feels so empty in here right now.

I have nothing to say, just wanted to get in one of the first posts on the new thread.

I think we're actually on thread 3?  In any case, Yanti, you told Stacey how to make her replies pretty if she's on a "poodle".  She doesn't have poodles, she has mastiffs.  What then?  And what did you buy?!

The only thought I have is the standard manatee mantra -  DOOOO EEETTTT!!!!!

Of course you're nuts for even considering it, but aren't we all??  DOOOOO EEEEEET!!!!!!

I'm seriously considering doing one myself next year.  The front runner is Chattanooga.  I have friends down there, and it would be easy to keep the travel costs down. Louisville is also pretty close to me.  I would prefer to do a fall race, so I can race other distances in the summer.

But I'm weighing the pros and cons, and might just settle for a HIM or two.

I'll be the first to post hiking/pet pix in the shiny new thread. The boys and I hiked La Luz yesterday. It's about 6,000 ft of gain over 7 miles and took us just over 3 hours.

ETA: if you  look close at the picture from the top you can see the trail we came up way down low...

I am considering a 6 hour run for this fall, but I know I have to take it nice and easy to get there in one piece, especially after the hamstring incident of 2014. I agree with Judi, Iron or Half is not in my future. At least not at the moment.

Mmmm, I can just smell the warmth on the trees.  Your boys are so handsome and Aspen is adorable!!  Looks like you all had a blast.  Nice way to beat the heat too.  How's the ITB doing?

Thanks! It was a PERFECT day for it! The boys were great and Aspen LOVES this hike! This was her first time with her own pack and it didn't phase her a bit! I taped the ITB and it didn't give me so much as a peep. There is a part of this trail that is rock slide with lots of awkward steps up that I was worried about but it was all good!

What 6 hr run are you considering??

Wow, a new thread! I like it!

Save the Daylight 24, although I will do the 6 hour if I do it at all. It looks to be quite monotonous, since it is a 3.25 mile loop here in town that I run on whenever I get the chance. I am easily swayed with the prospect of winning a beer glass. And I HAVE to do something to push the my sorely lacking mental strength. So I figure distance+monotony=challenge.

Louisville has been moved to October...it was on my list for next year in August, but may have to change plans now.  Hard to get time off during school year.
