What am I supposed to do tonight?  I need my TdF fix.  I'm not in to the recap show but will probably watch it anyway.

I'm already sad about thinking the TdF will be over in a two weeks (TWO WEEKS) and I will have to wait another year.  I love watching it.

BTW, my sister and her family live in Spain, so they went to Barcelona to watch the TdF...  My niece even got a water bottle tossed to her from "Oscar" Pereiro.

I may have to go crash at her place next year and see to tour myself.

Yeah today is a little slow.  Does anyone know if they have package deals to see a bunch of the stages?  I'd love to travel over there some day.

For a mere $13K you can ride a stage of the tour and chill with the cervelo test team for a few days during the race. Saw some package type deals listed on the cervelo website if you're up for dropping that kind of coin Money mouth

I would bet there are plenty...  I just don't know any.  There are a lot of "adventure" travel agencies and I'm sure they offer something.

However, it could be a little bit of a chore.  But I bet you could rent a car and bike and just drive to various stages if you have a couple weeks.  I would kill to do some of the MTN stages.

This is EUROPE! They have the best public transportation I've ever seen.  You wouldn't even need to rent a car.  Bikes are allowed on the train as long as you buy it a ticket.  Only problem is where to leave your crap.  My folks lived in Vienna when I was in college.  I used to take my bike to different cities in Europe on the train.  I'd drop my crap with the Marine House or at the Embassy and ride around the city.  They have lockers at the train-stations but if you're in some areas, I wouldn't do that (Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Italy).

I know TREK had a deal like the Cervelo one a few years ago but don't know if they still do.  They made a big deal about it on the Discovery Channel "Riding the Tour" show a few years ago.

You can do it cheaper...

Ive been given the advice that while you can do it yourself because you do need cars etc to get to many of the start/finish towns and along the routes....

As well as the fact all accomodation is often booked out as soon as the route for the next year is announced....

That its best is to arrange to join a tour group for while you are over there.. then you get gear/meals/accom and transport taken care of... you can take your bike and will see some of the best bit... takes the pressure off and allows you to just enjoy!
