Subject: RE: what not to eat before a training sessionLOL @ U ... I am a fan of the Paleo Diet for Athletes. They recommend not eating anything before a workout that is too fibrous or slow to digest (like grains and dairy, haha ). Also, grains and dairy raise the acidity level in your body, which can make you more tired. Their recommendation is for something high-glycemic about 10 minutes before your workout. Like a banana ... or Shot Bloks ... things that are high in sugar (to help you make glycogen ) AND easy to digest. You don't want to trouble your tummy with working too hard while you're running or cycling ... seems to work really well for me, though I can't eat anything but Shot Blocks before I run .... |
