Subject: RE: Soma TriathlonIt's as flat as it looks.
"Hills" consist of highway/lake overpass at Priest, and a slight hill on Curry Road. Curry and College have the most elevation change. I think this is where the elevation map hits the 1220 ft mark.
Also, there is a highway underpass at that loop-ety-loop by Curry Rd... (I think last year the loop was a no-passign zone. )
There's a slight swell of an overpass at McClintock ( I think? ).
Rio Salado, and the rest of McClintock always seem to be of pancake type quality to me. Quite flat.
The corners aren't too bad. For a while it was quite sandy at that left turn on Rio Salado outside of the transition, but I think they've cleaned that up? Also, there's been construction on Washington for a long time. Not sure if they've cleared that out either. Otherwise you jsut have those 3 U-turns.
Somebody correct me if I've misrepresented any of these roads.
I forget the water temp for last year, but I found it helpful to have a wetsuit last year. Seems everyone was wearing one last year... ? Since there are wetsuit strippers on hand, you won't waste any time getting out of it.
