Subject: Opening and responding to 'inspires'
I don't know where to post this question but maybe someone here can help.

I am using Firefox on a Mac. When I click on 'blog' to respond to an inspire, I get a small window opening instead of a full size window and there is no way to increase the size. Is that a BT issue or something with my browser? This does not happen on any other website. Links I click on, always open to a full size window and/or there is a way to increase the size if they are smaller.

Suggestions?
Thanks,
barb

Don't know the answer to that, but I thought I'd say hi.

Hi There! Yes, it's annoying but easily fixed.

When replying to an Inspire Me! in your blog, you have the option of replying in your blog by clicking the Reply button button, or in the original senders blog by clicking the blog button button. When choosing the latter option, a new window opens up to the other persons blog so you can read it before posting something.

The problem with FireFox 2.0, is that when you click the button, it opens up the other persons new blog in a tab in the Inspire Me window. Not particularly useful, and annoying as all get out. There is a remedy though.

Go to Tools->Options->Tabs
Change "New pages should be opened in" from "A new tab" to "A New Window".

Problem solved.

Thanks marmadaddy.  I have a follow-up.  Why is it that when I "reply" to the orginal note, my Training Log page reflects that I blogged myself.  How do I get it to reflect that I blogged another?

Thank you.

A re-read of marmadaddy's post I believe answers my question.  I should use the "BLOG" button not the "REPLY" button if I want my page to reflect I blogged another rather than myself.

For the record, this was recently discussed and I think we've come up with a more intuitive way of handling the "reply here or there" situation, so hopefully the Inspires will improve a bit soon. We'll probably also include the ability to Delete individual inspires from your training log.

There have been 1,643,494 Inspires left in training logs as of today.

Here's an easy way to do something nice:

Go into the Introduce Yourself forum. Find a post from 1 to 3 weeks ago. Go to that persons training log and leave them an Inspire. There's every chance that they're at a point in their training where they'd appreciate it.

Here's my thing...I like the open a new tab thing for the rest of the websites I visit and click on links for (I know, I know...it's sacrelige that  I visit other sites), and there's no option to just make it open a new window for certain sites.  Bah.  But, I deal...

Leave your setting as is and just right click the buttons when responding to inspires.  You can choose to open in a new tab or in a new window.
