Pre-race routine:

Picked up DK on the way to the race. Ate my customary coffie and bacon, egg and cheese on crosaunt. Hung out in the parking lot till 7:40 and meanderd to the "rock" May got there first which was great because she had Max's cell number and that allowed us to find Max and TriAgain. DZ found us last getting ready for his 5K. We unforutantly missed Isis54 and C2FD, for the race at least.

Tried unsuccesfuly to stay dry in the pretty snow.
Event warmup:

GASBAG, GUM FLAP, and meander to the start area. Did a group lung streach yelling for glen. Did not seem to help :)

Event comments:

This was just a fun race, the goal was to stay together and not get hurt. The roads were slick and I slid a few times, but nothing to take me down. We found C2FD and Isis54 as we were going to warm up our cars. Got a chance for a few more photos (like the ones we took durring warm up) and I had to get in line to leave the parking lot. The group was still doing the post race gasbag when I went by. By then Max and C2FD had gotten casses of extra pies ( I really think they shanghied them) :) I got an extra pie for the road.

I do not think this race could have been anymore fun. A couple of bands on the route, a few boom boxes too. Lots of people cheering, and best of all my first ever group run. I have run a few cross country races back in the day, but never ran as a group anywhere for any reason before. Too much fun.

Also got passed by a friend, did not see her husband (I suspect he was letting her win...again :))

I think this is a must race for off season BTers in the futrue.

Hey it was a great race Joe. I must have had a good time because by 7 PM last night my wife said "You know, that's about the 5th time you said you had a wonderful time today." Getting together with everyone is definitely a good way to stay motivated in the off season. Let's do a few more fun runs this winter!

OK I know that we can all go to Jorge for the next one...

A 5K in the evening in BOSTON - Bill Rodgers Jingle Bell Trot. Post party at Avalon, and you are supposed to dress up for the run if you want!!

And thanks for letting me use your gloves, Joe! My hands were finally toasty - I'll have to remember to wear the ski gloves next time LOL

Do we need a BT megaphone? Banner ? LOL- can't understand why I had trouble finding you all in a crowd of 7000...! Glad to find you all at the end- but would have really enjoyed the "pack" run! A little chilly for tailgating...but the snow fall was really sweet...
Again- a BT motivator- know it would have been easy to snug back under the covers if You all weren't planning to run....Let's plan the next one- Good time!
