Comments: up there it says "keeping cool." ha ha ha. I was so happy to have Rob there. What a nice guy. Single BT Women, Rob is a CATCH. We walked for about 1 min at mile 1, 45 seconds at 2, and I walked for 30 right before 30-- I sent Rob on. first mile was around 13:30, I think, slow, but the start was so jammed, we barely ran for the first 3 min. 2nd mile felt smokin', and it was! around 10 min, WITH the walk break. last mile I got nervous bc we came back around the lake and it started snowing and the wind picked up and my lungs hurt (waa waa). Strode out the last .1, and passed a few people. so much for not being into racing! What would you do differently?: nothing. Except maybe not do it, I hate that cold!. Actually, it was really fun, and I feel glad I had a pal to do it with, if Rob hadn;t been there it would have SUCKED Post race
Warm down: we ate and tried to get warm (yummy jambalaya, tomato soup and way too many handfuls of chips ahoy minis) What limited your ability to perform faster: snowy surface was precarious and tough on my calves and feet. I am still in base season, and really wasn;t after "fast" but rather, an event, something to motivate me and remind me that I am an athlete Event comments: great food, lots of people-- anything in Madison is fun! I esp liked seeing so many HS cc and track kids out there, lots of HS teams. FREAKIN IDIOTS! There is no official time for me, no official proof that I even ran this race! Rob finished in 33:04, so I am guessing I came in a bout a minute later. Last updated: 2005-12-07 12:00 AM
