Owls. They make lawn and garden-types replicas. I use them to keep the ducks and gulls off my dock.

A pellet gun....then:

Fillet breast meat

Marinate overnight in Italian dressing

Slice open breast half

Fill breast half with pepper cheese and jalepeno

Salt and pepper breast half to taste.

Wrap breast half in bacon and grill to medium rare (or until cheese just starts to ooze)

Enjoy your problem!!  They go really well with red wine.

You could also just sear the breasts and deglaze the pan with some port wine. Throw in a few dried sour cherries and you have the sauce.

I think the OP should think of this as a business opportunity, not a problem.

Yes, you could.  Or you could cut the fillets into strips and roll them in flour, garlic, salt, and pepper and then deep fry them and enjoy with a few cold beers and some hot sauce.

Marinating in milk, overnight, will get rid of some of the "gamey" taste too....

FYI...

But yeah....not seeing the OP's issue..

Jacking your chlorine to 10ppm for a week or so should discourage them. (I run a pool service / repair company for a living) . Keep in mind that each duck that hits your pool water is the same as around 50 people jumping in there in terms of bacteria and other nasties. The cover wont really help if the water is not super chlorinated. This is what we do and it works 'most of the time, but not all'.

Also if you are not in a populated area a shotgun works exceptionally well.
