New user  7 Foresthill, Ca |  Subject: Runner converted to TriHello... Been training about a month now for my first Tri in mid July. I'm a 5K / 10K runner convert. I hit this site 3 or more times a day looking for answers to all my question. It's like having a Triathlete "on call" to pick his / her brain. I get butterflies in my stomach just reading posts about other athlete's first Tri's. In this day and age... with most of america overweight... we should all be proud of ourselves for just training for tri's... let alone competing. This site is a big inspiration to keep going. Thanks. Not alot for your mind to do besides pace and form. Ahhh.. but 3 events and T1 and T2... Plenty to occupy the brain. Oh yeah... then there is the big finish. Swim today / Bike tomorrow / Run the next... because... Saturday you do all 3. Jason |

I'm in Sonoma County and saw that one....have already scheduled myself out....good luck!!! It is so much fun!!! I saw the flyer on the kids tri...how cool is that? I love the distances and the support they're throwing behind it. Best of luck to you and your 9-year-old....I think you'll find it's kinda addicting. Just finished my second one on Sunday (an OLY!!!) and plan on doing the Tri For Real again in August which should be in your neck of the woods at Rancho Seco Park...check out their website, they have a few up in there... http://www.tbfracing.com.. About the racing and training, by doing 5k and 10k you already know that fastest times are always in racing. My little piece of advice is for own experience: If you are a slow swimmer don't go to the front in the starting of the swimming. I got hit more times than a pinata in christmas.
