Subject: RE: old guy says 'hi'Hey old guy! We should open a new forum for the over the hill athletes. I've been doing tris on and off for quite a while. My swim is slow, my bike super fast, and my run so so. With all this I've learn a little about these activities; so here it goes.
Safety first, you know, like helmet, reflectant (if training in the dark ) etc. The other safety: You mention about the weight gain. Does you doc says the tris are ok? Also, a gung ho attitude is not so good. Why? Because with a sedentary life everything in your systems got weak. An increase of 10% in duration, effort or distance per week is the norm. Anything more will put you out of the game. Do I sound judgemental? Maybe, but I have to be honest. Specially when I talk to people I respect.
Good attitude, Yes!
Gung ho attitude, no. :- ) |
