Subject: RE: at a stop light do you,..I stop my timer for stop lights and water breaks. I'm very conscious of my time, but in this heat and on my long runs, I MUST be careful about hydration. So, I feel better about stopping at the bathrooms and drinking all I feel I need and even dunking my head in the sink if I know the clock isn't running the whole time. It's actually harder to get started again after stopping so I think that makes up for the pause. Besides, I want to know my running pace, not my running, peeing, head-dunking, water-guzzling pace.
My bike computer automatically stops once the wheels quit rolling. This encourages me to come to a screeching halt instead of a meandering slowdown at lights. ;- ) |
