So I told myself that I would do a Tri or 2 before I broke down and bought a road bike. It got kinda inconveinent trying to borrow a road bike all the time and the mountain bike I was borrowing was too small for me, so the wife did me a solid and approved the purchase of a new bike.

Cannondale CAAD9-5, it's lightning white, so you know it's got to be fast

Well I havent taken any pictures of my actual bike, but this is what it looks like http://www.cannondale.co.jp/bikes/images/large/9RA95D_9RA95C_wht.jpg

It's not anything special, not a try specific bike but it's good enough for me.

Went with 105 cause all my friends who have been cycling for a little while all wished they would have jumped to 105 and now are looking at dropping the $700 to get to 105.  Honestly I'm so new I dont know the difference.

Very nice bike now get out and enjoy the weather this weekend in Houston. Only going to be in the mid 90's, so it should be 'relatively' cool.

Shimano has different levels of components... 2200, Sora, Tiagra, 105, Ultegra and Dura Ace.  I put them in order from best to worst.  If you're a serious cyclist 105 should be where you jump in the line IMO and from what I've gathered from my cycling friends.  The 105 stuff is known as being the beginning group set that puts you into a quality, raceable component set that will have a good wear life.

My bike uses a mixture of 105 and Ultegra components which I've been extremely satisfied although I might try some Ultegra/DA shifters when my 105's need replacing.

Sweet dude....I just picked up a CAAD 9 frame a few weeks back.  It's an '08 though.  it's got full Ultegra and it is an awesome ride.  Very stiff...powers up hills.  I'm psyched for ya!

Good catch... I worded that completely backwards... LOL, wish I could edit that out.  I should have said WORST (2200) to BEST (Dura Ace).

Congrats!  Same boat here, almost.  I just this week replaced my 17 year old Trek 1100 with a Specialized Ruby Elite.  I would be thrilled except that, due to a crash on the old bike a few weeks ago, my right forearm/wrist/elbow is still too weak to be safe on a serious ride so I CAN'T EVEN RIDE MY NEW RIDE!!!!!
