Thoughts? My first thought is that sounds hard. Are you looking for a race or to organize your own 100-mile run-of-pain? In what month were you thinking of doing this?

Paulette, i have no doubt you can do anything that you set your mind too. I know you said self-supported, but I am assuming a 100 miler completely solo would be near impossible. So if you mean self supported in the way that you gather a bunch of us together yourself to help out, than yes I think it could be done. We did it at Pemberton after all. I'd be in to support help out =).

After you run to everyone's house, I'm sure we can come up with a belt buckle to present to you.

Well... you could train for that Ironman that you paid for... or are you feeling like the 50 was a training day for 100 like when you did the 50 mile pre-run for Javelina?

I have heard about some endurance runners carrying $ with them and stopping at gas stations to refuel.

Another thing you could do is go on some forums for Ultra runners and perhaps you can find someone to join you?

If you are totally serious about it, you can start drafting a route, etc. I am sure that you can get some of us to join you for parts of it. I as well as others who are doing IMs will need to get long runs in. People will may be more apt to join in when there is a solid plan that they can fit into.

Of course, if you want to do it, I'll certainly help you.

Might want to wait til things cool off a bit though. Especially if you are doing it in the valley. That will give you time to Recover and/or Peak your training again too... ?

I'd be up for crewing too.

Wait wait - is this SELF supported, full on Dean Karnazes style "go off and run and see where my legs take me?"

Or do you mean more like an underground 100?

Run out to my house south of the Estrellas, that's a long way!

But seriously, I'd love to help. LMK when you get a route organized.
