People are jealous?

I think I'm only half joking on this one. I think the problem is that people know that they are supposed to exercise and eat healthy, but a lot of people don't have the willpower and determination to do it for a long period of time. So, they start to see that as normal and everyone else as freaks.

I hate trying to explain to people that I want to do a triathlon. The response I get is, "Why would you want to do that?" as if it's something bad for me.

At least we know that we are doing good things for ourselves!

Ok, this is one criticism of Bush that I totally can't get on board with. What a lame thing to attack! Damn you, you fit president. I can think of a LOT better things to write an article about if you want to criticize the man. :-P

Lame!

What a load of BS!!! We all know that exercise is a stress release, and who has more stress than the President? I think that this is a totally low blow.

"When planes struck the World Trade Center in 2001, Bush was reading to schoolchildren, but that morning he had gone for a long run with a reporter."

Just wanted to point out that not only is the article silly, it is actually factually wrong. Bush was en route to the school when the first plane crashed. He then entered the school and was told of the second while reading with the children.

I am no fan of Bush's policies, but this is just stupid. At least he is setting a good example in a nation of people who are overweight.

That is one of the most ridiculous articles I have ever read--opinion yes, but ridiculous, nonetheless.

Well, "The Media" printed it.... that's what's disturbing. If I have some stupid bullsh** to write,  I post it here, not the LA Times!!! LOL! This guy needs to find himself a good internet forum (not this one, obviously).

Yeah, that is total crap. I once hear that he was in the top 5% of his age group for resting heart rate. Good for him! Maybe it helps him survive incidents like choking on pretzels...well, whatever it takes.

The same person would probably be complaining if our president was overweight. "Look, he can't even take care of himself, much less this country" or something like that..
Pretty weak

I'm always looking for a reason to bash Bush, but there is a line that even I don't cross. Fitness is over that line. Good for him for staying healthy.

That being said, I wouldn't mind if he traded a 30 minute workout routine twice a month for a press conference.
